Round Up #7: Max Sedgley, Crystal Castles, Cinnamon Chasers, Foamo, Andy Caldwell

Two whole weeks left until I’m back on here full time. Hopefully you are all enjoying the occasional round up that has been tossed up. I promise to get back to the ‘one artist a day-style’ posting in the next little bit so if you’re an artist looking for some spotlight keep the music coming. We love getting new stuff- or even just drop us a line to say hi.

Something Special is some electro funk at its finest. Nice rifts, sultry vocals, Max Sedgley puts it all together within this piece.

It’s been awhile since any new Crystal Castles remix has graced my library. Needless to say, problem solved. The Midnight Conspiracy remix to Crimewave is sick. It has a whole range of new elements to get attached too.

Cinnamon Chasers are great. I have been patiently waiting for Davies to toss out the original to the Diamond Cut remix of I Like Watching You posted months ago.  It happened to come out within the past week and stays within the traditional soundscape/ light-electro style we grew accustomed too.

The Diamond Cut remix is a little more into the disco-scene so I thought I would re-post that for those who like to move a little bit more.

The Foamo / Warrior One combo in Centavo are quickly spreading around the blogosphere like an uncontainable brushfire: hot and outta control. The heavy beat has aspects of drum and bass while adding in nice sides of house creating some dirty electro.

The last few months I have been going back a little bit within the Andy Caldwell archives. The house-electro concept mixed in with funk beats is infectious. This remix is relatively new to me and just has that edge to push Andy Caldwell that much over the top. I love it.

Round Up #5: Monarchy, Diamond Cut, Warrior One, Foals

Sorry for falling off the face of the earth. Another week being buried in books is coming, and another week in music has past… here’s whats helping me ease the pain:

I finally stumbled into a digital copy of The Phoenix Alive this week by Monarchy. I’ve listened to it a couple of times from secondary sources but it’s nice to have something to pass on [See Monarchy past - 1 | 2 | 3 | 4]. The UK duo started spread many light disco delights across the blogosphere last year with Gold In The Fire and since have really honed their own style. As a bonus we included another remix from Kris Menace.

If you want more hit hypem for tons more accessible goodies to boost your library with including another remix from Hot City on The Phoenix Alive; but if you’re just looking for a listen, take a gander across  Monarchy’s myspace for more gems.

Diamond Cut beats are sensationally epic. This new mix to the brand new artist in M’Black’s Heartbreak is no different. The NY guys know how to spread some infectious disco vibes. For more Diamond Cut stuff, check out some old stuff we posted here… you won’t be disappointed.

Warrior One tosses up a dirty mix to Foreign Office’s Leaving The House. There’s lots of great elements within so I hope you enjoy it. And if you don’t know who Warrior One are? Try this…

“Warrior One are 2 people. One of them is called 4. Both are 29. One lives East London. One lives West. One is from Dublin. One of them isn’t. One is the producer. One is the reducer. Warrior One is a master yoga pose dedicated to Virabhadra, the name of a fierce warrior incarnation of Shiva, who had a thousand heads, a thousand eyes, and a thousand feet, and wields a thousand clubs whilst wearing a tiger’s skin. Deadly.” – myspace

I bet you’re still in the dark but honestly what does it matter when the duo produce remixes like this?:

Foals have the new feel good song of the week:
