Grum – Turn It Up [Heartbeats Bonus Track]

Late last week and all weekend I became re-hooked on Grum’s Heartbeats album. The album is ridiculously awesome but one of my all-time favourite tracks from within is Turn It Up, a collaborative piece between Grum and Electric Youth.

The track is full of 1980s nostalgia to which many compare Bronwyn’s vocals to an early Madonna. It’s that excellent. When I first started bloggin’ back in the day one of my colleagues actually went to highschool in Hamilton, ON with the Electric Youth duo. At that point they hadn’t jumped into the music scene quite yet but it’s still pretty cool to see how we’re all connected on one level or another.

GRUM + Beaumont

What happened to me in September? I’m not too sure because somehow I missed one of the hotter GRUM tracks of the year. And to make things that more exciting, one of the remix packages included a little Beaumont… what a combo! ‘Little’ is far from the vocabulary I should be using to describe this track. Together the dynamic duo create nine minutes of pure dance pleasure. With epic synths, pop-styled drops, and house rendered breaks this track seems to have it all.

To those who came across it months ago I apologize. I will have a little something special tomorrow. To those who also missed it, Enjoy! I know you will.

“Drive, straight through the night. We can make it home before daylight. And I’ll be by your side.”

GRUM – More Remixes!

There is no mistaking Grum’s flare while on the dancefloor. The DJ/Producer has recently added a few new billets to the summer/fall lineup and it is looking pretty damn good. If you’re currently residing in Europe or Australia you may want to take a gander. His shows are dynamic, phenomenal and consistent!

These few tracks listed below are new additions to the site. A couple are more recent but like most of Grum’s remixes they grasp a whole new concept of good. One of my favourites is the new Gamble & Burke mix to their new single, Lets Go Together. Check them below and always support Grum by purchasing more music here!

The scary thing is, the best is yet to come.

Gamble & Burke – Lets Go Together (GRUM Remix)

Groove Armada – History (GRUM Remix)

Marina & The Diamonds – Oh No! (GRUM Remix)

Everything Everything – MY, KZ, YR BF (GRUM Remix)

DCUP [More Remixes]

DCUP resurfaced a lot for me this past week. I’m not sure why that was but the Australian sure has a resounding amount of skills. With it being the weekend, I thought we could all use a little more DCUP in our lives. Below are some notables not on this site yet- but they should be. For more, check out some previous posts we’ve done on DCUP here. They all hold some unique and delicious beats- especially the Rainbows of Death remix to Style as well as the Phonat mix to Love Hits The Fan.

Pablo Calamari – Think About You (DCUP Remix)

Damn Arms – Destination Pt. 1 (DCUP Remix)

Round Up #4: GRUM, Russ Chimes, Cassette Club, Thin White Dukes, Nightriders, Fred Falke, Johnatron

Happy St. Patty’s Eve!

Hey everyone, sorry about the lack of music the past couple days… I honestly meant to toss this up yesterday so my bad. However in doing so I sat on these tracks a little bit longer and can tell you quality is about to follow. Now lets get to it…

To start things off right we have another remix from the King Midas of remixes- GRUM. Everything he touches turns to gold. No joke.. have a little gander at the past here. The newest has been classified as ‘unbelievable’ and has a dirty bass line that will no doubt reinvigorate the dance scene wherever it is played.

TV Rock feat Rudy – In The Air (GRUM Remix)

Russ Chimes needs little introduction. If you don’t know much about him by now I’m sure you’ll take one listen and want to click here for more.

The Vanish – Hold On (Russ Chimes Remix)

Cassette Culture indulge us with a delicious synth-licious remix to Passion Pit’s hit Sleepyhead. Real chill but vibrant all at the same time… can’t go wrong at all.

Passion Pit – Sleepyhead (Cassette Club Remix)

YES! Seal! Who needs to be kissed by a rose when you can have a Thin White Dukes mix that combines a space-odyssey style of disco-electro beats with Seal’s legendary vocals?

Seal – Amazing (Thin White Dukes Main Mix)

A dance anthem like no other, the Nightriders remix to Teen Scream Machine can only be played on one volume level and that is LOUD. You can’t just listen to this track you need to feel it- deep in your bones. Turn it up, have a listen, and then tell me what you think!

Don Diablo – Teen Scream Machine (Nightriders Remix)

Real catchy but about a week old, Falke’s new mix to Florrie’s 911 harnesses that real mainstream vibe that I think many people are looking for when transitioning from pop to disco-electro. Stellar stuff.

Florrie – Call 911 (Fred Falke Remix)

Who doesn’t like Johnatron? I know I do.

Johnatron – Magic Missile

Happy Valentine’s Day…

Personally I’ve never been a big fan of the hallmark holiday. But it at least gives me a chance to show off some cool artwork I found from dryicons and share a random mix of songs for the day. So whether you like valentine’s day or not at least you’ll have something to listen too as you move from point A to point B.

JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE – Show Me The Night [GRUM Remix]

A week ago, we posted some classic GRUM remixes and stated that we needed some new mixes.  Well it didn’t take long but we got our wish.

Friend and fellow blogger Aleks from Discodust sent us an email a few hours ago including this gem.  It’s GRUM’s brand new mix to JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE’s single Show Me The Night which releases February 26. 2010.  This mix a little different than the others we’ve featured on aerial noise (see past [1][2]).  There seems to be much more emphasis on the vocals.  It’s a little different but if you’re patient you’ll be rewarded as the second half is far better than the first.

Thanks aleks.  Follow up on all things Discodust here, and of course all things about the artist(s) here: GRUM / JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE

GRUM [Old Taste, New Flavour]

My favourite remix producer Graeme Shepherd aka GRUM has resurfaced this past week with a few new additions for my library.  It seems a lot of blogs are reminiscing about his banger remixes, especially these dance gems in-particular. In doing so, they brought a bunch of classics back to our speakers.  So restock your library while we wait patiently for the next fantastic release to come our way!

GRUM [Remixes]

GRUM is back with yet another stellar remix. Took The Night is the next edition added to his repertoire and while the vocals take a second to get used too, the song is fantastic.  It will definitely leave a mark on the dance floor.  Show it to your girl, get her digging on it and she will take the night.  GRUM does a masterful job mixing some killer beats together for this one. This track comes highly recommended.*

The Giants

miamihorror

Miami Horror is phenomenal.  I like nearly everything Benjamin Vanguarde produces under his alias.  The Australian native seems fixated on staying home by filling his calender with dates devoted to his home country.  We need to somehow get him overseas after the Australian tour.  Vanguarde’s newest is the first single from the 2010 album Illumination.  It’s definitely worth the peak.

Miami Horror – Sometimes

Miami Horror’s Make You Mine is one of a kind.  It has laid the foundation to a plethora of newly constructed remixes that simply rock the world.  Check out Cassian and Falke‘s versions here, but despite the remix the original cannot be beat.  Funky and fresh you just can’t find another ‘oldie’ that renders what this can.

Miami Horror – Make You Mine | Original Post

A-Trak

Last Monday A-Trak released his much anticipated remix to Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Heads Will Roll. The teaser was spectacular but the full length track is unbelievably better.  I didn’t get a chance to post it earlier so if you don’t have it grab it below.  A-Trak goes wild on it. He kicks in a variety of verses and sporadic beats that will have clubs and parties everywhere craving for more.  I pitty the track that has to unfortunately follow this mix wherever it is played.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – You Are Never Alone With Model 21 (Justin Faust Club Remix)

Ultracity came around with a new remix to Grum‘s Runaway that is damn good.  It lightens up the original a little bit. Grum’s original is not half bad either, and well neither is Doctor Detroit.  Enjoy the whole package.

Grum – Runaway (Ultracity Remix)

Reminiscent of the So Electric instrumental vibe I miss from Lifelike.

Relation – Your Tiny Mind (Lifelike Radio Edit)

FROSH

DCUP‘s latest is another exceptional remix.  This time the Sydney-based producer tossed up a unique spin to the Prior’s track What You Need.  It’s fresh out the oven and couldn’t be any more delicious.

Priors – What You Need (DCUP Remix)

BESTRACK

We missed out on several remixes to 317 newcomer Bestrack last week while we were moving.  He recently released his debut EP Sunset City and it is simply banging.  Everything I have heard from him is brilliant.  If you don’t have these tracks below, you need em.  Every track offers something raw and unique.  If you dig what you hear check out the EP.  You won’t be disappointed.

The remix Justin Faust throws down is killer.  It is guaranteed to get the floors going.

GRUM – Woah (Bestrack Remix)

Bestrack – With You (Justin Faust)

Madonna – Into The Groove (Bestrack Remix)

NightyMax-BeachHut

Here’s something perfect to finally put an end to summer.  I know it’s a little early but let’s face it, school’s in session and no one is booking anymore summer vacays.  Night Max is another entangled member of the very fierce YALL production package we keep hearing so much about from Barcelona.  He is very, very talented.  Check out some earlier stuff here.

Night Max – Beach Hut (192)

I caught hold of Mark Ronson‘s dub-reggae take to Miike Snow‘s Animal and wow is it ever fresh.  The horn and key segment near the middle is perfect.  To be honest I’m not quite sure how he masks the vocals to adapt to his funky-ass beat but he does, and it couldn’t be any smoother.
