FABIAN – Puzzle [Binary Entertainment]

Billed as one of the very first tracks that Fabian ever produced, ‘Puzzle’ sets the tape measure out to Electronic-Electronica long n’ wide, and is ever so careful enough not to let go of the tape fastener quickly as to let the whole thing shoot back and ping your fingers hard – like some cheap scene off of Jackass. With previous remixes and boooties under Fabian’s belt entitling Fred Falke’s ‘Back To Stay,’ Phoenix’s ‘1901’ and Dragonette’s ‘Easy,’ ‘Puzzle’ goes to show the length and breadth of how Fabian Ordorica’s own personal tastes have touched him, and how far he will go to create that ultimate remix.

FABIAN – Puzzle

Dragonette + Fabian

Dragonette’s Martina Sorbara throws down the killer vocals you’ll find in this mix. And then Fabian, represented by the one and only Binary, spices things up with a fantastic synthetic disco vibe that compliments the track oh so-well. It’s a soft and sensual disco melody for a mellow start to a Tuesday. You can’t go wrong with that.

Dragonette has tour dates lined up throughout July and August reserved for North America. People in Canada and the U.S. can check listings here.

Round Up #3: Fabian, Rockets, Kisses, Error :: Love / SayCet

Back with another quick installment of some great tracks…

Fabian’s new mix to Oh Shit! & Night Drugs’ Everybody Needs has become my new favourite track over the past week. It’s scrumptiously filled with delightful disco beats and rockin’ verses that will have you moving. Then of course you have Fabian who puts it all together and makes you happy you are still on the dance floor at 1:18. Altogether now…

Oh Shit! & Night Drugs – Everybody Needs (Fabian Remix)

This new Rockets remix fell just short of Fabian’s but I mean those rifts are hard to compete against. The Rockets have hit us before (see MAU remixes) so if you’ve been paying attention to them you would know by now that they have what it takes to compete with the big names out there. This new remix is further proof. Keep an eye on these guys throughout 2010! Big things are on the horizon.

Butterfly Bones – Crystal Caves (Rockets Remix)

Studying has been nearly impossible with the fantastic weather we have been having. Sun and warm weather makes the fresh spring tracks start to come to the forefront of my playlists. One of my recent favourites to grasp this light sound is the band Kisses with Bermuda. It’s captures that cottage/waterfront/boozin’ atmosphere we all love so much up here in the North. I think it’s fantastic.

Kisses – Bermuda

The bass – vocal combo Error :: Love do to Saycet’s Opal is simply one of a kind. A splash of fresh summery vocals with a hypnotic beat makes this track catchy as hell. Its been around before but damn I love it.

Russ Chimes [Remixes]

I finally got a hold of some new Russ Chimes! This guy is spectacular. We already mentioned him slightly when he touched up Mowgli’s Road, but Russ Chimes is a London-based producer and DJ who always seems to deliver. I’m still waiting to hear a bad remix from him so if you know any please send them my way… until then check out everything.

The best way to describe the music I think is to describe the experience. I go to a party, put on some Russ Chimes, and for some reason people go nuts. Maybe it’s consuming copious amounts of alcohol, or maybe it’s our addiction to dance music, but whatever it is having people let loose is a thrill that Chimes somehow embeds in his music. The dancing thing is a weird phenomenon you should try out sometime at your parties.  It just may work for you.

Royalty Session

monarchy

The new demo from Monarchy is impressive to say the least.  The London duo are bringing some flare to some soft electro jams.  The track starts off slow until the melodies break into one another, from there it simply takes off.  I’m digging every second of it.  It’s hard to throw out a comparison for you because there’s many different elements to it.  A great mood track to carry you throughout the night.  Brilliant.  I wish I had a label so I could attempt to sign these guys.

Monarchy – Gold In The Fire (Demo)

russ chimes

Russ Chimes is a pretty sure thing when it comes to providing gold for the dance floor.  His latest remix comes from LA Nights, which is now available on itunes.  It’s the typical smash from Chimes who never ever seems to disappoint.  Myspace is a good place to catch more bangers.

Fabian – Heatwave (Russ Chimes Remix)

chromeo

I’m sure by now you’ve all caught the new single Night by Night from Chromeo released a few weeks back.  All the remixes have came and gone and for now, I found one that really leaves a punch.  Skream’s remix just barely edged out the new version from DJ Anonymous.  The laidback take does wonders to compliment the pop-based lead vocals from Dave 1.  But I still love the funky rework Anonymous does.  Anyway I included both, if you feel like sharing post your fav.  If you don’t have the original electric avenue has it for you here.

Alan Braxe is one of the few individuals who can reproduce mainstream music into listening gold.  Not that teeny boppers don’t have an ear for great music….”To the window! To the wall!” haha; I’m just saying that Braxe definitely knows how to turn it up a notch and it doesn’t matter what piece of music you start him out with.  The newest remix to hit us last week was Broken-Hearted Girl.  Fantastic Dub remix, but there’s a slow and bothersome Radio Edit out there… so don’t get confused.  The ‘right’ version is listed below.

The interview above is crazy fascinating and Too Many Sebastians led me to it so thanks for that.
