When a remix is moulded to perfection, it pretty much sounds like this … So its with great pleasure that we salute Cosmonaut Grechko.. never the magpies and never the guy who might have a bit of bum fluff on the upper part of his lip as a poor excuse for facial attire via the small shape of a little square. Goulding has never sounded more scrumptious.
Russian wonder Victor Klyuchnikov (aka Cosmonaut Grechko) certainly knows how to set the little puppy amongst the pigeons on his daily stroll around the park, but unlike the reality of scaring the crap out of those flying angels of poo, his Alaska 2100 EP floats and glides along the skies of normality and reduces those who are a little bit scared of heights, to pick up enough courage to tackle those big or small fears.
‘All I Hear,’ ‘Singin,’ ‘Coloreye’ and indeed ‘Alaska 2100′ all encapsulate that wonderful electro type phasey aura, whilst stopping on by the boutiques & stalls of musical sprinkles & butterfly like care.
Submitting a “bomb” like presence for creative DJ mix plans and specialist radio shows within, Cosmonaut Grechko’s “Alaska EP” sets itself up to be a prize winning specimen.

As they prepare for a tour to celebrate their first decade together, I’d imagine it’s going to be a minute before we hear any new music from national treasure Karen O and her Yeah Yeah Yeahs . It’s Blitz! was a great record, but in the mean time we need people like Victor Klyuchnikov, AKA Cosmonaut Grechko to step in and give us something fresh, such as his remix of the YYY’s essential, and hipster make out song, “Maps”.
Off his Pilot Radio Guest Mix, the classically trained Russian disco producer turns the heavy heartbreaker into something playful, free and easy. I love the fractured and inconsistent layering that never gets heavy enough to be taken seriously, and never allows Miss O’s tragic lyrics to really gain traction. The Cosmonaut has turned a classic indie-ballad into something you can fly your kite to, and the Pilot Radio Guest Mix also features the great remix of Druma Kina‘s Walking Away that we’ve mentioned previously, and is definitely worth looking into…

Teenage Gang Records are about to release the new Walking Away EP for the Brazilian Druma Kina. The track is spectacular and if I were a betting man I would guess the album would be just as badass. Keep an eye out for it here. The release comes with remixes from Montauk, Kamei and Cavaliers of Fun. Not to mention this very smooth remix from Cosmonaut Grechko.
