KIM [Remix Archive]

Last weekend I indulged in some throwback remixes and just had to re-share them.

KIM is Kimberly Isaac Moyes aka 1/2 of the amazingness from The Presets. Not only is he extremely talented within the Preset duo but as a solo producer as well. I haven’t heard much from him lately but I was craving the unique set of beats he collectively works together so I went back searching my library. Here is just a sample of what KIM provides and what I miss hitting my ears.

The remix to This Boy’s In Love is still one of my all-time favourite remixes ever. If anyone else has any dynamite mixes please post the track title in the comment box and I will go searching. Hopefully this mini calling has more KIM fluttering back our way.

Enjoy the wayback playback.

The Presets – This Boy’s In Love (KIM Remix)

KIM – By The Time They Reach You (The Bag Raiders Remix)

KIM – Party Manchini

KIM – Wet N’ Wild (Riot In Belgium Remix)

Bag Raiders – Turbo Love (KIM Remix)

Bag Raiders

It has been a long time since Bag Raiders came across A/N but thankfully that time has ended. The duo from Sydney, Australia exploded out of the gate early on with Shooting Starts, but took their time releasing their first self-titled record and it sure paid off. The sound is polished and perfect. Great for just about any occasion.

Chris Stracey and Jack Glass showcase a lot of their work over on bagraiders.com. It’s the site to check. They also just finished their national album tour Dec 5, but most likely won’t be sitting still for long. For all future tour dates check their site!

The Bag Raiders album released October 10.2010 off Modular Records. Get yourself a copy today!

Bag Raiders – Way Back Home

Bag Raiders – So Demanding

Bag Raiders – Sunlight (GLOVES Remix)

Shazam [Remixes]

Added a few new Shazam remixes to my library just the other day…  The disco-pop magicman from Perth, Aus. is at it again! We love him for the classics listed below but these brand new additions (among a few others recently added to his myspace) are spot on. He tours locally throughout Australia. If you get a chance to ever go down under one hell of a dance party may be waiting for you. I know some of my friends are heading to Sydney in the next few months so witnessing a Shazam-set could be a nice little add-on.  Tour dates found here.

Headman – Dirt (Shazam Remix)

Toecutter – Best Party Ever (Shazam Remix)

Bertie Blackman – Black Cats (Shazam Remix)

Great Things Come In Pairs.

bagraiders

To Honour the new Shooting Stars video release several artists have dropped great remixes to the track over the past few days.  Two dynamite renditions came in from Shazam and Kris Menace. In my mind Menace wins, but only barely.  Both toss up different and unique twists to an unbelievable original.

cassian

After hearing Cassian lay down an intense remix to Miami Horror here.  It wasn’t hard to find something else funky and great by them. This funky mix to Damn Arms’ Destination is right fresh.  Another Modular possible future great.  Follow their myspace to check out yet another great remix to Shooting Stars.  It may even be better than the two we could get our hands on.  Find it here!

BONUS!

I ran into this gem about a week ago. Here I was at 3 AM and a little more drunk than usual.  The night was great- cool breeze, warm air.  I hit the balcony, lit one up and then this track came on.  It made me lay back, relax, and reminisce a bit.  Straying a little bit from the electro-side of things this bonus track reminds me much of what the Silversun Pickups had in Lazy Eye without the weak lyrics. I hope you dig this instrumental like I do.

Decoder Ring – Beat The Twilight

The New Music: February, wk 5

What a great weekend! I celebrated everything and accomplished nothing. More weekends should sound like that. I’m exhausted, and keep occasionally glancing at my bed. It’s looking more and more comfortable by the minute. With that in mind, I’m going to keep this post relatively quick. I have one newb to introduce that surfaced within the last week or so that’s worth a peek. This is the new Treasure Finger’s remix to the Miike Snow track “Animal.”

Miike Snow – Animal (Treasure Fingers Remix)

The next three have all been released sporadically throughout the last year. Throughout my last few days of self-destruction has caused them to resurface on my computer. Therefore I feel like sharing. Check em out, I’m sure they are nothing new but hopefully they will bring back some awesome ’08 mems like they did for me.

Faker – This Heart Attack (Miami Horror Remix)

Shooting Stars – Bag Raiders (Vocal)

The New Music: January, wk 4

ace-of-base

The past week I have been jiving to some really retro tunes in preparation for a local 90s event this coming 30th. Being in the mood I thought I should freshen up the old retro playlist. Scavenging the world wide web for new tunes, I found a really cool twist on Ace of Base’s classic 90s song “All That She Wants.”

All That She Wants (Messkid Skull&Bones Remix) – Ace Of Base

Next is a classy mix of ZZZ by the Bag Raiders. It has become one of my new favourites to toss on during some homework or even just to kill some silent air. The piano in the song really accompanies the mix well. I think its a gem, which isn’t bad being only a few weeks into ’09.

Lion (Bag Raiders Remix) – ZZZ

An added bonus:

Earlier this month, we showcased The Twelves remix to Groove Armada’s “Drop The Tough” released by Bacardi B-Live Share (see post for details). B-Live Share has released the Van She rendition of “Drop The Tough,” and although it may not be The Twelves remix, it still offers a unique vibe to a stellar track.
