The electronic pieces in it are flawless. They are working on a lot of big label releases as of recent but wanted to continue to give away a bunch of free stuff for their listeners on their soundcloud, hype machine and fan pages! Tune in to get in on the action.

iAm1 is the sum of 2 people, singer song writer Oli Rose and MC Jamie Wallace. The two met whilst studying music at Westminster University in 2008 when iAm1 was born.

From diverse backgrounds and influences they merge Oli’s traditional song writing roots with Jamie’s original flows and self inflicting lyrics, bursting on to the London scene in 2008 with a set firmly rooted in acoustic/spoken-word, as comfortable in a folk setting as they were with a grime audience.

In 2009 they released their first single, a remix of Night Time Calling, featured on RWD, NME and Grime Daily, followed by their last single ‘The Movement’ produced by Nocturnal (Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah) which was the first track ever created using a PC game, then released worldwide exclusively on EA’s Games title APB. The single was also heavily supported by Kiss FM and RWD.

They quickly established themselves on London’s live circuit during 2009/10 selling out headline shows at many of London’s key venues including Ronnie Scott’s, Camden Barfly and Hoxton Bar and Kitchen whilst also supporting artists such as Tinie Tempah and Jessie J.

This is not music strategised for a ‘pop’ audience now familiar with the blurring of styles thanks to media savvy artists and labels who recognise that a ‘best-of’ genres approach feeds instant gratification and chart success, it’s just the sum of 2 diverse people who share a passion for creating music together without confines, then putting it out there on their own terms.

The new EP “Watching” is set to be released March 19th and we couldn’t be more excited. It features 4 original tracks and an acoustic version of the title track. The EP showcases the duo in such a way that makes me feel like this is just the tip of the iceberg. Each track is a very unique proposition and shows a great deal of versatility from such a promising young band. The lyrics are emotive, real and often cut rather deep and feature two very distinct vocals.

It’s impressive. With his debut EP “The EXperience on the horizon, he’s currently pushing a remix that has been getting a lot of love on Hype Machine called “On and On and Ocean” which samples Erykah Badu, Bjork and The Dirty Projectors. Another great track from his repertoire is his dub take on Adele’s Rolling in the Deep.

After receiving the opportunity to live overseas in China, the teenager grabbed hold of his first set of Technics 1200 Turntables.

As he experimented with the new equipment, Johnson also took advantage of his foreign exposure and critically studied the technical nuances and styles set before him in the most popular clubs. No longer would DJ’ing be a new-found passion, but a thriving career path awaiting his discovery.

As a 17-year-old Johnson made his way back to the United States, he returned with a unique outlook and greater ambition than ever before. The insight Johnson acquired abroad aided him in gaining incredible local momentum; Johnson found himself being repeatedly invited to DJ countless local University and Community College events and concerts. Johnson’s exposed creativity and diversity as an artist deservingly awarded him with much critical acclaim and positive reception.

Johnson has extended his talent to notable venues in the greater California area at San Francisco’s Infusion Lounge and The Ambassador, Sacramento’s Dream Ultra Lounge and The Park in Sacramento, San Luis Obispo’s Mothers Tavern and Native Lounge, and Arizona’s Cream Stereo Lounge. Internationally, he has DJed in Macau, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Johnson was also the World Extreme Cagefighting “WEC” MMA West Coast DJ, Tachi Palace & Casino MMA DJ, NOS “Hot Import Nights” 2009 Season DJ, Coca-Cola Bay Area DJ for all corporate events, 2009 Love Fest Float DJ, and played at Fresh Entertainment 2010 fresh anniversary Rave in LA.

Johnson has since ventured into broader professional territory. He has been welcomed into the New York-based Crooklyn Clan as a featured artist; consistently producing immensely popular tracks/remixes among fellow DJs. Renowned artists such as Tiesto, Hardwell, Laidback Luke, DJ Chuckie, Steve Aoki, DJ R3hab, Wolfgang Gartner, just to name a few have all supported DJMAKJ’s tracks since his competitive debut in the realm of professional DJing and Production.

Most recently, MAKJ has joined Goom Radio, an outstanding achievement on its own. The online radio station specializes in customized radio for its listeners using the highest caliber of sound technology. DJMAKJ is currently the freshest DJ featured on the popular “In The Club” station on Goom. DJMAKJ is the second DJ on the West Coast to represent Goom Radio. His 60 min mixshows will be broadcasted every Saturday on 92.3 NY & Goom Radio’s online station.

At only 20 years of age, Mackenzie Johnson has achieved an almost unfathomable amount of success. His dedication to his craft and ambition to surpass any and all competitors will further propel DJMAKJ higher than he ever imagined.

The result was what they call “Frico Disco”. The first Fare Soldi album was released in Italy on Riotmaker Records in 2002. A few years later, after delivering their unique sound and very tongue-in-cheek DJ sets throughout Italy the duo released the critically acclaimed “One nation under a grande cassa” on Riotmaker Records. At that point Riotmaker Records had also become an imprint on Warner Music. More releases including the “Mago Ninja Robot” Ep and their third album entitled “Sappiamo dove abiti” (Whe know where you live)were soon to follow.
Fast forward to 2010 – with a number of releases under their belt including the most recent: “Houstria Ep” and VIGORILLA, and strong support from MTV (Italy/EU) and a slew of big name artists like Erol Alkan, Aeroplane, Metro Area and Bloody Beetroots showing support, the golden duo (they perform in signature gold jackets) are poised for world domination.

Currently, Fare Soldi’s remix of “Babylon” for Congorock and their remix of Duck Sauce’s “Barbra Streisand “are causing an international sensation at clubs and festivals from California to Ibiza. Their new ep is out now: CASOTTO, while remixes and a new tracks are also in the works for next year.

Fare Soldi has performed alongside James Murphy, Calvin Harris, Mr. Oizo, Sebastian, Kavinsky and Crookers. The list continues to grow, so lookout for Fare Soldi they’ll soon be coming to a club, festival or Italian restaurant near you!

I just finished watching the movie Drive (2011), directed by Nicholas Refn. Holy shit is it ever fantastic! Honest to god the best movie I have seen in years. The film pins its headlights on the dark implications of unchecked obsession and good intentions gone haywire. That dangerous duality – humanity on the razor’s edge of animal brutality – is played to unnerving perfection by Ryan Gosling. With a low budget and the odd Hollywood marquee, the film was never expected to make the impact it did.

And well; the soundtrack is even more impressive. With a lineup like Kavinsky, College, Electric Youth and more, it slides right into our alley. Go out and watch it.

BLU MUSIC is proud to release “BIG JERK” produced by Christian Falero & Adrian Villaverde.

Co-producer Christian Falero who is a native to the Blu family since becoming involved as part of a production duo with BLU MUSIC founder Sydney Blu and releasing several charted tracks since 2010 along with a few solo projects including Enlevez-Moi which included a heavy hitter remix from Paul Thomas.

Up and coming U.S based producer Adrian Villaverde has been working hard on defining his big bass sound which is evident in “Big Jerk”. This is his debut on BLU MUSIC and sure not to be his last with new releases already in the works. “Big Jerk” is a new age spin on a classic tune with the vocals re-cut and original music covered.

Most notably Gilles Peterson of BBC radio one has given it multiple spins.

If you dig this track you will definitely love the album metamorphosis. It’s an amalgamation of soul and electro that’s unlike anything you have ever heard before. Every song on it is gold.

The concept for Metamorphosis album began before the birth of Everett James’ son Isaac. Everett felt an evolution within that changed him from what he thought he was into the man he is now. This evolution was a complete transformation that surpassed even what he thought he would become. Everett began the writing process new years 2011, while performing in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and continued creating songs throughout the year. The idea behind the sound of the record was to blend live instrumentation, analogue, and digital sounds in a way that was musical. Everett pulled inspiration from seeing the birthplace of humanity in Africa and witnessing his family grow. He hopes you feel the change in the music and the energy of life in the song

We recently introduced you to self-taught, guitar prodigy Alex Fedorov, and his new track “Last Forever”. Currently unsigned, Fedorov continues to work out of Bedrock Studios in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, and lately there’s been a steady stream of piercing guitar roars emanating from Fedorov’s cell. The man’s been toiling away on the new album arriving sometime this year, and due to be titled “Ahead of Time”. With plans to perform around LA while he continues work on the LP, Fedorov wanted to pass along a new track, “Input Power”, and a larger library of his material can be further explored at http://www.reverbnation.com/alexfedorov…

Based in Nashville TN, Ugly Kids Club is the music collaboration of Steve Wilson (producer, songwriter, guitarist) and Aliegh Shields (vocalist, lyricist, guitarist). The pair formed in early 2011 when they discovered their shared love for minimalistic rock duos such as Sleigh Bells, Crystal Castles, and The Kills.

Steve is a Grammy Nominated rock producer and songwriter by day working with bands such as The Juliana Theory and Jonezetta. Aliegh is a bartender who grew up on stage and in her bedroom teaching herself guitar. Their contrasting musical backgrounds helped form their unique sound of crunchy beats, fuzzy guitars, and undertones of synth-pop. Check out “My Soul”, off the duo’s self titled debut album released January 10th on iTunes…
J3000 is an alias of Julian Fenner; sound designer, DJ, Mashup pioneer and well-known artist JoolsMF (Young Turks, Mad Decent, XFM). “VCO” nods to the Carl Craig school of techno. It’s equal parts Landcruising-era Craig and Deep House. With more than a slight nod to the woozier side of MoTown, this isn’t a peak time banger, its for driving through the city at 3am…
