BLACK CITY LIGHTS : Parallels EP

Vocally led and produced by New Zealand’s Calum Robb and Julia Catherine Parr, Black City Lights take us on an expedition that’s more carefully laid out than a football stadium covered by a 10,000-strong domino exhibit – waiting to have its first domino pushed and then savoured intently as the rest of the audience watches the rest fall down.

Connecting the bonds between the blissful, the melodic and the unparalleled, Black City Lights objectively give out a clear and textured coating, marred with stretchered mood & tempestuous ambience.

‘Get Away’ is their Jewel of The Nile on “Parallels,” but in no way overlooks the five other equally radiant prisms inside Black City Lights’ incredible EP.

PYRAMID : Life Above The Stars EP

Already seen giving all the teenagers a bad time via their Heartsrevolution, Pyramid smacks one of them right up n’ into the front line, emitting an resonate mark from his latest “Life Above The Stars EP.”

Time travelling between vortexes only known by super beings in God, Pyramid maintains his glimmer & journey beyond and above its space tale gamut. “Life Above The Stars” is essentially to all: Future bound.

If you missed them previously, then be sure to catch Pyramid’s previous orbits from his “Destiny EP” and the “Lost In Space EP” respectively.

FINAL DJs – Inversion

Life sized teddy bears & carnival float displays via an ode of TRON: Legacy is apparent on Final DJs ‘Inversion.’ Flash backing to a fictional period where humans are part machine n’ part robot in creation, ‘Inversion’ would fit the mould quite satisfactorily. Agreeably kosher, ‘Inversion’ hails the start of a new sci-fi produced galactic-epoch.

Les Limaces – Smoked Beat EP

To say that Les Limaces have been busy for the past year would be a massive understatement. When they were not getting praise, radio and television airplay from influential music critic Claude Rajotte, they were probably busy rocking thousands of dancers at events and festivals, releasing EPs, tracks and remixes on various labels like Tasty Bytes Records, System Recordings, Re:Beat, PFL Records and Quadbyte Records…. or working on a brand new full-length album named Smoked Beat which we are really happy to present to you today.

They have perfected their craft and are taking you along for another melodic journey; sometimes moodier and smoother, sometimes more bouncy and driving, but always perfectly produced and definitely tasty.

Smoked Beat was released March 9th on most music download websites, including Beatport, iTunes, Juno Download, Trackitdown and Amazon. If you dig these tracks then you really need to have it!

FM ATTACK vs. RICHARD MARX + Hopeless Romantic + Dreamer

Speaking of love.. FM Attack should soon be returning to our airwaves with a new found album (lets hope) … But until then, lets sample the recent and previous best from Vancouver’s champ of all things analog & synth, FM “Shawn Ward” Attack.

Traxx

Imagine you are listening to the most positive and uplifting song that you have ever heard. Now Imagine that you are listening to this song while thinking about a dream you might have and want to accomplish soon. This euphoria of accomplishment, positivity and strength is released in every single song within Traxx’s new Time EP.

The French 19 year-old has really outdone himself this time. Check it out below.

NEW ARCADES – Echoes Of A City

Right from my birthplace of merry ol’ London, UK lands New Arcades – a concept driven up by a guy called Dean (who I’m sure on his next email will reveal his surname – ha ha). Powerfully rolling along with the vision of a cinematic soundscape made up of 80’s blue skies (& FM Attack burliness), ‘Echoes Of A City’ comes into its own instantly and holds a candle to most lights with most-obvious lineage and familiar sound. If this is his debut, then he must be born to synthesize folks! Superb mixdown Dean (we don’t know yet.)

World Tour – Believe

Undoubtedly one of Cascine’s most anticipated releases of 2012 is the ‘Believe’ EP by World Tour – a bold, thoughtful and imaginative contribution to pop music.

Last year’s introduction to World Tour – the dreamy breakout single, ‘Sparks’ – drove more traffic to the label’s website than any release to date.

Believe is a glistening pop gem with a stately and slowly-evolving melody. Spend some time with it, and it blossoms into something beautiful and three-dimensional, something that asks for little but offers a lot.

BAGHEERA – Thief

Forgetting the cheekiness that this brought me in thinking that the vocal on this gem sounded like a cute and lovely cat on acid meowing away to its heart’s content.. is undermining the fact that Bagheeras’ ‘Thief’ is future bound, poised, and ready to pounce dexterously. At a beats per minute footing that can easily be altered to achieve maximum energy, Bagheeras’ simple and bright melody is perfect at this tempo and sensational around any setting. Loving the chords guys!

GOLDROOM – Angeles (Follow Me Remix)

Made with even more imagination than I could ever dream up.. Follow Me’s cosmic rebirth emanates radiantly from my uncle’s home town of New York City. Condensed with more evaporating airiness than Goldroom’s liquid milk itself, Follow Me polish off an entire crate of analog equipment – with more use than you can shake a stick at – and gift wrap their sound nicely inside a realm which is unquestionably “37,000 years into ancient future past” and 1,000 years into future present. I think Follow Me have just put themselves into the territory of viable and noteworthy creators.

AEROPSIA is Lost In Static

Its been a long time coming but I am finally bringing you a glimpse of what Santa Cruz’s own Aeropsia does on his nights off when he’s not searching online bingo sites or multiplayer hook-ups online. Only kidding Aeropsia.

Contrary to that belief, Aeropsia harnesses a wonderful melody in these two examples and drives his bass lines forward by marring spiky and prickly-edged plug-ins together as epic bleepy-ness. Moulded cleverly as a futuristic blueprint, his passion for online web Sudoku almost seems too bad to bear. Thank the stars that he’s managed to find time to make his Lost In Static EP, as this is a really great show from our quiet online gamer-in-chief; new up ‘n’ comer Aeropsia.

In addition below is his recent ‘Places We’ve Never Seen Before’ production.

GOSTEFFECTS lands …

There’s a theory in this world that everyone has a doppelgänger (another person who is your double or a look-a-like of you) living somewhere else on this planet … Well if that may well be the case following on from its original meaning in folklore and fictional scripture, then Skrillex’s partially-near look-a-like would have to be New York’s Gosteffects.

Taking on board their completely different stances in production styles, Gosteffects is a man taking after my own heart diluting a formula of vocal salvation – through a wickedly tasty sample abed tight flexi drums. On his Imogen Heap booty, Gosteffects dangerously conducts the Logic Pro orchestra into a tragic and clear symphony. Gosteffects is indeed a Psalm and a Galatian set for clubland mass preaching.

MAO – Harken (Acid Version)

The sounds on this record come alive so vividly in your ears you actually do think there is someone in the room with you knocking! And if a track makes you think that from out of the blue, then you know you’re in the company of a winner.

Amazing clarity for such a delicate and energetic ball bearing, UK’s Mao should hopefully be a name you should be hearing from again in the near future. Mao’s video of his accompanying track ‘Emeralds’ is also including below.
