THE JACKSONS – State Of Shock (with Mick Jagger)

Dumfounded in how a certain person can send you a definitive text message from the evening before – and then from out of nowhere by a 360 degree angle: take back their decree in the morning much like the UK coalition government of late …

The Jacksons instead – decide on bestowing a more refined & integral intelligencer (quite similar to a Jen SX 3000 synthesizer) and insist on calling out all back-sliders, contradictory persons.. and incompetent, kiss-ass management sheeps to bend over..
roll their finite mindsets in a ball.. to take that son-of-a-bitch sideways …
And stick it straight up – your Candy Ass ! …

Now that Elevenses is nicely prepared for party people.. I am going to enjoy some more buttered scones and freshly poured Earl Grey. Anyone want to join me?

Alex Fedorov – “High Balance”

Self-taught, guitar prodigy Alex Fedorov last checked in with his epic “Last Forever”. Still unsigned, Fedorov continues his work out of Bedrock Studios in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, and he’s passed along three of his favorite tracks, as well as a video clip for “High Balance”, one of his signature, hypnotic instrumentals. Fedorov’s textured sound is truly unique, and while the process of constructing his multilayered gems can be consuming, the results are always rewarding. The new album arrives sometime this year, and is due to be titled “Ahead of Time”, and all his material can be further explored at http://www.reverbnation.com/alexfedorov

The Magic – ‘Mr Hollywood’

‘Mr Hollywood’ is the debut single by The Magic. The band are made up of brothers Geordie and Evan Gordon, from small town Guelph, on the outskirts of Toronto. The track takes in syncopated disco rhythms, languid 80s funk, and FM pop - a record as equally indebted to the effervescent pop of Phoenix, as it is the white funk of Talking Heads.

Geordie sings, plays guitar and keys, with Evan on bass, backing vocals and production. Together the duo create a sensational sound that’s backed by tons of potential.

Disco Fries ft. Jeremy Carr & Hyper Crush – Heartbeat [Preview]

With two songs in American Reunion; a residency at the Palms in Las Vegas; and collaborations with major artists including Katy Perry and Pitbull, the Disco Fries are the ones to watch in 2012.

The Disco Fries rise to the top happened in a relatively short amount of time after it became clear that their combined talent created an extremely impressive dynamic rife with original sounds. Shortly after joining forces in 2008 while attending Berklee College of Music, they landed their first big break when they were asked to remix Flo Rida’s “Sugar” for Atlantic Records. The song quickly climbed the Billboard charts, eventually becoming certified Platinum. Since then, the Disco Fries have lent their signature sound to artists such as Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Usher, Pitbull, Chris Brown, Mike Posner, Steve Aoki, and Cobra Starship. In 2011, the Disco Fries crafted their debut single, “Killer”, featuring the vocals of Interscope recording artist and E! News correspondent, Clinton Sparks. They continues to remix major label artists including their most recent work for Flo Rida’s “Good Feeling” (produced by Dr. Luke & Avicii) and Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like How It Feels” (featuring Pitbull). In addition, Katy Perry handpicked the Disco Fries & Tommie Sunshine for their remix of her 6th single “The One That Got Away”.

Earlier this year, they released their single, “Born To Fly”, which features the vocals of Niles Mason (of David Guetta & Afrojack’s “Louder Than Words”). The song, released on Strictly Rhythm Records, went top 10 on the Music Week Dance chart in the UK. Their single “Don’t Look Back” with Tommie Sunshine on Viscous Recordings is currently #2 on the ARIA Club Chart in Australia.

“Lickin’ My Love” – RETROTATION MASHUP (Mord Fustang ft. Justin Timberlake)

Retrotation, AKA Matt Olick, is versatile, and he’s not afraid to show it. It’s been a bit since we last heard from our favorite ex-video game developer turned musician with a “passion for inspiring beautiful things that  lay dormant inside every human being”. The Mord Fustang mashup is unexpected, and genius, and a promising sign of things to come as Retrotation continues to fool around, mixing together electro house along with the usual club hitters like Afrojack and LMFAO…Check out the new track and a little preview of things to come from our buddy Retrotation

Ugly Kids Club – “Sheepskin”

Nashville’s Ugly Kids Club is a collaboration between Steve Wilson (producer, songwriter, guitarist) and Aliegh Shields (vocalist, lyricist, guitarist). The duo came together in early 2011, and mutually draw inspiration from The Police, Talking Heads, Sleigh Bells, Nirvana, My Bloody Valentine and The Kills, among others.

They triumphantly return with an artsy video from their self-titled EP. Each track comes with it’s own visual accompaniment, and “Sheepskin” can now be enjoyed (with images) at the Ugly Kids Club YouTube channel. UKC also recently released their self-titled album on iTunes with special limited edition cassettes for their vintage-loving fans. The video for “Sheepskin” is conceptually unique, and features clips highlighting vintage American pastimes, with precious  few glimpses of Aleigh and Steve.

The Ugly Kids are on a mission to get closer to their fans, pleasing their senses with vivid visuals paired with rich music. The twosome has been featured on indie music sites nationwide and rocked the audiences of popular music venues in Nashville (as they will be doing in the near future) and beyond. UKC are proving to be anything but ugly with a star quality most only wish they possessed…Check out the flyer for the upcoming UKC show in Nashville and keep watch for a forthcoming album…

Right the Stars – “Stay (Don’t Go Away)”

Right the Stars is a product of overseer Rich Jacques, whose resume includes collaborations  with some of LA’s best to create his new sound. The band, a collaborative project with Rich Jacques as the centerpiece, brings together some of the city’s most talented musicians to create an unabashedly feel-good indie-pop record.  The collaborative project was born with the track “We Got It All”, a song co-written with Rob Giles and Guy Erez. The track led Jacques to dive into a fuller and more band-centric pop sound which was starkly different from the troubadour mold he had been performing in for most of his career.  ”I wanted to stretch beyond the limitations of just a guy with an acoustic guitar” says Jacques. The self-titled debut for Right The Stars was released in 2010, however the project realizes its full potential with Hello Yes OK.  Drawing its title from three words which are universally understood throughout the world, Hello Yes OK is a delightful record with hooks piled upon hooks.  Creating a musical language which shares the same universality.  The guys will be performing a residency at Molly Malone’s in LA, and you can check out “Stay (Don’t Go Away)” below…
