BLU MUSIC is proud to release “BIG JERK” produced by Christian Falero & Adrian Villaverde.
Co-producer Christian Falero who is a native to the Blu family since becoming involved as part of a production duo with BLU MUSIC founder Sydney Blu and releasing several charted tracks since 2010 along with a few solo projects including Enlevez-Moi which included a heavy hitter remix from Paul Thomas.
Up and coming U.S based producer Adrian Villaverde has been working hard on defining his big bass sound which is evident in “Big Jerk”. This is his debut on BLU MUSIC and sure not to be his last with new releases already in the works. “Big Jerk” is a new age spin on a classic tune with the vocals re-cut and original music covered.
Based in Nashville TN, Ugly Kids Club is the music collaboration of Steve Wilson (producer, songwriter, guitarist) and Aliegh Shields (vocalist, lyricist, guitarist). The pair formed in early 2011 when they discovered their shared love for minimalistic rock duos such as Sleigh Bells, Crystal Castles, and The Kills.
Steve is a Grammy Nominated rock producer and songwriter by day working with bands such as The Juliana Theory and Jonezetta. Aliegh is a bartender who grew up on stage and in her bedroom teaching herself guitar. Their contrasting musical backgrounds helped form their unique sound of crunchy beats, fuzzy guitars, and undertones of synth-pop. Check out “My Soul”, off the duo’s self titled debut album released January 10th on iTunes… My Soul by Ugly Kids Club
“Dongdan” is the first single from a new album’ The Beijing Gang’ by producer and composer Chris Bemand. Chris has released many innovative electronic albums since his early days with acid jazzsters Marden Hill and filmic Chill Out group 45 Dip. He has collaborated with Ashley Beedle ( Ballistic Brothers/Xpress 2) Rob Dougan,(Clubbed to Death) and Mark Doyle (Hed Kandi) . As well as a large discography, Chris has written and produced countless scores for all kinds of TV shows including mainstream cartoon series, Bafta nominated Skunk Fu! and King Arthur’s Disasters. He’s also known for writing choral stings for top shows including the X-Factor and Top Gear.
Dongdan is a clever, quirky fusion of classical Chinese instruments paired with contemporary beats as has ever been heard before. Chris recorded in Beijing with a handful of virtuoso musicians from Peking Opera and the resulting blend is original and unique. Chris also worked with film director Ed Bignell to produce a series of promotional videos (shot in Beijing) to accompany each single release.
Chris explains ‘I was in Beijing and found the most vibrant club scene, but they were playing generic Western music. I couldn’t understand why no home grown music was being played in the clubs and bars so I decided to experiment.” Chris set up a studio in Beijing and put his huge experience and creativity to the task of creating something modern, danceable and interesting whilst keeping the integrity of the Far Eastern flavour of the music intact. “All the musicians on the album are at the top of their game but most had never played on Western Music before and couldn’t imagine a fusion of the two styles,” commented Chris. “They were all knocked out with the finished tracks. The album is intricate but cool, a real feast for the aural senses.”
Squirky Music Ltd is a new label which releases eclectic and original filmic music.
A refreshing advancement of the established post-rock premise, self-taught guitar prodigy Alex Fedorov’s nuanced, polished sound offers an alluring modernity, while still retaining a depth and complexity reminiscent of The Album Leaf or Mogwai. Fedorov seamlessly weaves elements of Heavy Metal, Ambient, Trance, and Classical to craft a signature sound that transcends genre lines, and appeals to a vast array of tastes. Currently unsigned, Fedorov continues to work out of Bedrock Studios in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, and his already extensive library of material can be further explored at http://www.reverbnation.com/alexfedorov…

Satellite Stories is fresh & cool party indie band from Oulu, Northern Finland. The band known for their energetic live shows draws inspiration from the likes of Phoenix, The Wombats, Two Door Cinema Club & Vampire Weekend. Recently Finnish music media and music industry professionals chose Satellite Stories as one of the most promising Finnish bands for 2012 (Sound of 2012 Poll of Finland).
Even though they have only released handful of songs, Satellite Stories has already toured Central Europe and played on major Finnish summer festivals. Their songs Helsinki Art Scene and Kids Aren’t Safe in the Metro have been featured on MTV USA and climbed to TOP-10 of The Hype Machine and We Are Hunted. We introduced you to Ronald Kaufman, AKA Kauf, with the noir thriller “Relocate” a while ago, and we’ve been following him closely since. It’s been a minute, but the Southland’s Kauf has checked in with a DJ set released through the Lost in Records website. He also has a remix for the Tony Castles song, “Heart in the Pipes” coming down the pipe later this month, again through Lost in Records, so we won’t need to wait quite as long for the next Kauf post…Kauf’s music truly captures the darker side of living in Los Angeles, and his captivating, darker perspective explains why he is currently one of the city’s quickly rising stars…
Adelaide-based duo MANOR materialized nearly a year ago as Nathaniel Morse began writing and collaborating with Caitlin Duff. Touched by The Beach Boys, Paul Simon, and the blurry brilliance of the Cocteau Twins among others, MANOR makes rich, intricate pop music driven by a jangling guitar, and built atop a foundation of multi-layered percussion. The duo’s first single, “Rhodesia”, inspires wonder while acceding skyward towards a spectacular crescendo where spectral, lilting vocals are aligned with Nathaniel’s icy, reverb-drenched guitar. “Rhodesia” is out now on iTunes, and MANOR’s debut LP is currently being recorded, and is due for release in 2012…
August Eight may or may not have issues with authority, but don’t allow the sporadically surly demeanor to distract from a profound talent that became apparent around age 8. Eight has been an outspoken opponent of self-limitation, and has never believed in stifling other creative urges. Distractions to some, Eight claims his music would be void of it’s signature depth should he be unable to enjoy his alternative artistic pursuits. The primarily self-taught August Eight explains a conspicuous fascination with different genres and artistic mediums by recalling his travels as a citizen of the world; embedding himself amongst our planet’s most exotic societies, soaking up culture, and marveling at indigenous song and dance. A strong believer in not setting limits to what one is capable of, and always overflowing with brilliance, Eight handles his own graphics, photos and website. You might call the 21-year-old Californian an ultra-auteur, who capably produces, mixes and records his own music in a private, self-built studio in the hills above Los Angeles. With plans to release his first official solo project this coming summer, August Eight has been relentlessly writing and producing tracks for an upcoming EP that will mark the beginning of a ceaseless tour of enchantment…
Enfant are a British electronic music trio consisting of twin brothers Ali Owen, Robin Owen and Ed Ellis. Earlier this year, inspired by some recent records, Robin and Ali decided it was time to ditch their guitars for synths and start a new project. They called in Ed (a previous bandmate) and the three of them hit the studio and began writing.
In August 2011 they emerged from their London basement studio as a collected group with their first tracks. Their debut single and videp, Waking Up In The Sun, was released September 2011 and can be seen/heard above. We think they echo some early Cut Copy and could be destined for some big things.
Mint Julep is the husband and wife team of Keith and Hollie Kenniff, and they continue to produce the lustrous modern pop music that sets us adrift atop a cloud of bubbles. Keith Kenniff is best known as the brains behind dulcet ambient/electronic practitioners Helios and Goldmund, and he has also composed music for Harmony Korine’s ‘Mister Lonely’ and the trailer for Sam Mendes’ Revolutionary Road. The forthcoming album, Save Your Season, will be made available on the 19th of November on Village Green, but for now, check out track “Aviary” remixed by our favorite post- rock Scotts Mogwai, as well as the music video for another of Save Your Season’s tracks, “Days Gone By”…

The Los Angeles based producer Blazin put hip-hop drums against prismatic synths on his last beat tape, “Night Career”, and it’s two parts “Raw Like a Circular Saw” and “Relics of Psychedelics”. Blazin has hooked up with his cohort (whose name I find to be genius) TuskegeeCadet on his latest mixtape, “Keep It 100”, a title that connotes the rhythmic artisanship you can expect from the pairing. All beats were handcrafted by Blazin and TuskegeeCadet, with Blazin handling mixing duties. TuskegeeCadet also helped out with some mind expanding visuals in the form of a promo vid…
From the people who brought you Suede Ape, comes Modus Pony, the new instrumental solo project from Matt Ackerman. The self titled, debut album is a collection of experimental ideas, born during countless hours of bedroom daydreaming, presented and served to you as a traditional collection of typically succinct pop-songs. The album is a buffet of bite sized, experimental pieces that can be listened to casually, or examined and picked apart meticulously as an extended piece of audio-art. The album is currently available via bandcamp, with two free tracks available for download if you’re looking for something odd yet catchy, while cerebral in a “I-see-what-he-did-there” kind of way….
Magic Machines is a Los Angeles hipstertronic project, showcasing an aggressive brand of textured, staticy, dance music. The latest Magic Machines offering arrived on September 26 , and “MM1” can currently be found on Itunes and Bandcamp. The new EP can be streamed via the Magic Machinessoundcloud. To promote the new EP, Magic Machines hooked up a little visual aid to accompany the track “Hey Mister”, and you can also check that out below… Hey Mister by Magic Machines
