ORBITAL – Wonky LP [ACP Recordings Ltd]

Departed from the label empires known as Internal, FFRR and EMI that homed Orbital in their early years, the faction of ACP Recordings now presents the ultimate personification in stadium and performance based flawlessness through an aptly shaped “Wonky” LP.

If there was any suspicious doubt that Paul & Phil “Orbital” Hartnoll had lost their focus in the last eight years since their last studio album or during the time they had decided to break up as a duo, then you better start thinking again.

Entrusting the futuristic visions of ‘New France’ featuring Zola Jesus (which is genius by the way) alongside ‘Straight Sun,’ ‘Distractions,’ the impressive ‘Stringy Acid’ and the drum & bass / dub breaks fusion of ‘Beelzedub,’ Orbital have reclaimed the top spot in an emphatic Lady Leshurr and characteristic Hartnoll brothers fashion.

Absolutely amazing is the verdict summed up on Orbital’s latest “Wonky” LP.

EINLEIT – And I A Twister Love What I Abhor EP

Gabriel le Masne, Charlie Guillemin, Vincent Ruby and Jun Suzuki make up the foursome force of convincing and believable alternative music wonderments known as Einleit.

Produced by the band themselves and Jérôme Litré-Froment twiddling those 64 channel mixing desks to perfection, what starts off as a mere idea develops into a dark infested aura filled with sensitive characteristics, and a bunch of melancholy misgivings that are composed & comfortable all in the same breath.

This is the world of Einleit.

Macarize’s “Moments EP 02” provides a wall to wall delicacy of emotional tragedy & classical uplift. A five-times display of gentle & subtle Grandslam numbers is on offer from start to finish.

axisONE – Altair / Vega {2012}

‘Altair’ and ‘Vega’ by axisONE provides the stagey flow of chords and arpeggios’ into a realm of unforgettable refrains and never-questionable EFX patterns. Brilliantly lush.

BLIGHTY – Kärlek {2012}

This phrase will no doubt get repeated by myself again.. but for there to be a great remix, there always has to be a great Original. Blighty; with Thomas Bronzwaer and EDU on the remix duties, provide the happiness in major large quantities.

ATLANTIS OCEAN – Aquila / Gate / Sputnik {2012}

Spread completely over by tried & tested guitar licks and heavenly stirred instrument knowhow, Atlantis Ocean moulds a church orchestral presence of three audio productions which don’t run over time, nor contain any pointless speeches in clear view sight.

Orphans STHLM – Jeet Kune Do EP [12-3 Recordings]

This is the sort of music that gets you coaxed in its winter cosy coat of warmness, but doesn’t leave you profusely sweating when you’ve had it on for an extra five minutes after you’ve arrived at your favourite club venue.

The 12-3 Recordings boys are back with a new Orphans STHLM EP from Kasp & Andy; and from the sounds of ‘Jeet Kune Do,’ ‘Coyote’ and ‘Geth Funky,’ we start to go through a corridor of crystallised, simplified garage-blessed-house-music, before ending up in the world of Orbital with some good old fashioned atmospheric techno melodies.

Altogether, this is a back to 1989 special with a hockey leagues worth 2012 cloakroom assistants & bouncers on-looking. Happy days are within.

Introducing.. DJ MIKE CUE

Opening up a semi large porthole that outpours the varied paranoiacs, fears, hates and lively throw-downs that flirt with that oh so thin borderline of mainstream and underground music, another CRJ bootleg plops out from the digital world this week – all courtesy of the little brother from The Mash-Up King family.

Seattle’s DJ Mike Cue attempts on making a “Guetta-type bridge” with his production called ‘Let’s Go Call Me,’ but when you strip away the main vocal, you’re left with quite a daring power house melody that’s supercharged & truly energized.

If any extra vigour was needed, then it soon comes in by the two and three bus loads in the shape of ‘Murfs Hustlin.’ The force that is behind this structure leaves your body quickly, and returns as a new entity of brutal bass edged thrusts – and terror sensed dynamic.

Mike Cue’s bootie of the memorable Skee Lo’s ‘I Wish,’ irons things over in a radio static: House first, then glides into a slowed down and hip hop way. 126 to 98 BPM amazing.

THE R.O.A.R. / FEATURE CUTS / ALAN BRAXE / LUTZ x LINUS / STEREOHEROES / SHIT ROBOT / DJ PP / BLAKE MILLER / VALENTINO KHAN / LAZERDISK PARTY SEX /

As the intake of extra high digital & analogue releases just keeps on flowing through at AN headquarters on a daily basis, we reach the conclusion that being inundated with newer and semi old tunes will never be an old fashioned or frustrating prerequisite.

With the endless flow of global talent that always never fails to amaze, its productions and mindsets like these that challenge the soul always, and relinquish the heart continually.

Turning the impossible into the possible, is the man that they call Steve Narvaez. Aka The R.O.A.R. he’s continues on with the unthinkable task of using Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick In The Wall’ sample – and turning it further into a brutal electronic pneumatic drill.

Feature Cuts carries on the highway / motorway maintenance from his base in Houston, Texas and offers out those jackhammers like a party full of people asking for free peanuts.

The anthem known as ‘Intro’ peaks its attractive head around the corner for a 2012 re-look courtesy of Apparent Motion, while LUTZ x LINUS go down the route of Euro Pop and come out the other end with a joyful look on their faces and a pleasant after-smile to please the ladies.

Valentino Khan decides that isolating Mr & Mrs Shark’s fins are never a good idea for anyone’s own individual profit, so instead opts for a dirty and breakbeat sounding way of making his living instead – which is always a great deal more honourable.

StereoHeroes make champions of us all by turning an Infected Mushroom Original into an electro house pronged barrage (whilst still retaining their rock / psy trance element that Infected Mushroom is known for) and DFA Records provide Shit Robot with more space time & wacky electronic races  - than a months’ worth of Hanna-Barbera re-runs on pay-on-demand.

Blake Miller uses his electronica club card to maximum effect which utilizes a lot of pump ocular nonsense. But saves the best till last alongside a-to-die-for refrain provided on ‘Four Leaf Covr’ stupendously.

DJ PP resurrects an always familiar Ibiza classic from the archives and uses Cr2 as a solid platform for exciting all the Ibiza 2012 crowds at present. Leading the way for Diplo & all of his Blackberry endorsed features, he orchestrates Lazerdisk Party Sex to play at his own poolside party for more Mad Decent hand claps & lengthy arm twists / twirls.

Now that’s a party that I want to be attending at least twice a week …

YOUNG DIGERATI – Endless Bummer EP

Listing each and every one of these four tracks that are enclosed as their most triumphant ‘Endless Bummer EP,’ the San Francisco sound of Young Digerati alternatively arrange a triad of driving melodic chords – and a feather stroked tale of whittled down harmonies with no electronic thistles in sight.

Well, maybe perhaps the odd delicious one …

JOCHEN SIMMS & LUCIANA – Wicked Workout [Radikal Records]

The totally, TOTALLY bad ass vocal and sultrily distinctive tone that emanates from Luciana’s voice each and every times she sings – is back for all our ears to enjoy.

Teaming up with London based Jochen Simms, we’re set on some pretty short and teasing samples of the Vocal, Dub and that all important Radio Edit for any & every personality jock out there.

Once again, it’s a full Ten out of electro-house Ten from Luciana and Jochen Simms.

BLAC WALDO – Irrelevant EP

Blac Waldo’s next journey into the state of modern day electronic dance music folklore, returns in the shape of his newly formed “Irrelevant EP.” Trailed by pre-order notions through Amazon’s portals currently, ‘Bollywood’ and ‘The Titan Walks’ make up this two track EP into imperative and forward-thinking standings.

CLIFFHANGER vs. LIGHTNIX – The Fourth Dimension (Radio Edit)

Without sounding like an audio-extraction taken from out of the mouth that features a lineup of electronic frenzied tooth’s and gum lines, Israel’s Cliffhanger vs. Lightnix use an unforgettable technique for their ‘The Fourth Dimension’ structure amazingly.
