Parov Stelar – The Princess (Tour Trailer 2012)

If there were one individual wholly synonymous with and undeniably responsible for the worldwide boom of electro-swing music, that one individual could only be PAROV STELAR. Creating explosive, fun-drenched and sonically exquisite waves for well over a decade, he has long secured his crown as THE sole pioneer and founding father of a scene that is exponentially bursting before our eyes.

It is therefore with the utmost excitement and the warmest of introductions, that Get In! welcome Parov Stelar to its ever-expanding roster of truly world-beating talent!

Masterfully fusing the very best in house, jazz, and swing with electro, funk and pop (and pretty much everything in between), Parov’s unrivalled discography truly is in a league of its own. Engagingly original, utterly classy and most importantly pure FUN, the man himself and his musical offerings just ooze ‘pure cool’. What’s more, his hi-octane live concert shows – either with the full Parov Stelar Band or stripped down to a trio, Sax and Vocals – are really quite something else.

Get In! will be kicking off proceedings with his latest artist album “The Princess” (April 19th 2012), the superb first single “Jimmy’s Gang” (March 9th 2012) and a relentless whirlwind tour of Europe and North America.

“Electro-swing”, “cinematic house”, “funked up four-to-the-floor”…call it what you will. Parov Stelar is your man and he’s on the form of his star-studded career.

Kaskade – Room For Happiness (feat. Skylar Grey)

The wait for UK fans is over, as US dance titan Kaskade finally unleashes his hotly anticipated album ‘Fire & Ice’ exclusively on iTunes through Ultra Records. In addition to this, single #3 from the long-player, “Room For Happiness” also sees the light of day! Featuring standout remixes from Gregori Klosman, Pixl, Pixel Cheese, Feenixpawl and Mysto & Pizzi – it’s a package worthwhile for all!

‘Fire & Ice’ which has already docked at the top end of the overall American iTunes charts features luminary talents such as Rebecca & Fiona, Grammy-nominated Skrillex, Skylar Grey and Late Night Alumni.

Yet the true genius of Kaskade’s latest extended offering lies not solely in its top-notch collaborations; it’s also in the divide Kaskade determines between Disc 1 (Fire) and Disc 2 (Ice). Fire reveals ten scorching club edits soaked to the bone with the renowned production power that has seen Ryan Raddon crowned ‘America’s Number 1 DJ’ by both Pioneer and DJ Times and in doing so won him an unparalleled army of devoted fans across the length and breadth of America. In stark contrast, Ice reveals the same ten cuts but stripped back and laid refreshingly bare, the listener is subtly yet skilfully taken on a completely different tangent; a brand new journey through Kaskade’s masterful stereophonic sound.

From the hit singles “Eyes” and “Turn It Down” right through to underground monsters like “Lick It”, ‘Fire & Ice’ has something for everyone. Whether your passion is house, electro, dubstep or ambient, each track and its separate counterpart is sure to evoke response – from the most die-hard fans to the most casual.

With a plethora of European appearances already confirmed, including the O2 Wireless Festival in London with Rihanna, his residency at the world-famous Marquee in Las Vegas and top-secret festival plans soon to be revealed to a waiting world, things are only set to get bigger for Kaskade whose sole intention for 2012 is to spread his undeniably unique sound far and wide.

The Opiates: Reality TV – Drop out Orchestra remix

The Opiates is the latest project from the “queen of electronic soul” Billie Ray Martin, best known for her work in Electribe 101 and the worldwide solo number one hit “Your Loving Arms”, together with Norwegian musician Robert Solheim, The Opiates, who have been dubbed as ‘The Carpenters of Electro’ released their album ‘Hollywood Under The Knife’ in October 2011 with massive support from DJs, press and blogs alike. Each song on the album talks about another tortured diva, Hollywood actress, failed star… in search of identity, gender and a life beyond isolation.

Eight amazing music videos and a UK tour, including a gig at HMV Oxford Street played their part in gaining The Opiates a growing fan community.

After the remarkable success of the album, including many ‘album of the year’ entries in major publications, The Opiates are now releasing this impressive selection of remixes, by some of the coolest producers around.
From Aerea Negrot and Kim Ann Foxman of Hercules and Love Affair, to Doorly, Dan Beaumont and Disco Bloodbath plus Throbbing Gristle legends Chris & Cosey, this twenty track album was put together with one goal: to give the Opiates songs a new power and Billie a new voice. Each track was produced in close communication with The Opiates.

The result is an album that doesn’t shy away from displaying what genres like dubstep or drum and bass mixes can do with a classic vocal song. Another focus is the inclusion of an array of house mixes inspired by classic Chicago and New York vibes. The icing on the cake is the Drop Out Orchestra Disco Banger with its massive 80s style epic arrangement, which is already attracting the attention of many blogs and DJs. Another highlight is Young Richard and Hanatemari’s mixes, recorded in Tokyo, using beats combined with traditional Japanese string instruments.

Carishma – Glow In The Dark Remix Feat. Ark Angel

Few unsigned singers can get über-producer Timbaland and legendary songwriter/producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins to produce tracks for them. But few have had the drive, energy, ambition and talent as Carishma.

Hard work and entertainment are in the singer’s blood. Her mother is a Bollywood singer and actress who always had music playing in the house and Carishma would dance to the latest pop and Bollywood tunes. Her father is a self-made businessman who worked his way through college making pizzas and bartending; he now runs a successful business. It was this work ethic that Carishma learned early on that would pave the way for the singer’s current—and future—success.

By the time she was 5, the New Jersey-born singer was already performing daily for her family, drawing on then-current 80s pop songs and not allowing her parents to eat dinner until the show was finished. This childhood passion only grew stronger as the singer got older, with the trained vocalist recording her first song at 13 and a series of tracks for an independent label before finishing high school.

After recording with up-and-coming producers, word of Carishma’s talent and hustle quickly spread throughout the industry, eventually reaching Timbaland. While most college-age performers plan for the future, Carishma was living hers now, flying down to Miami to record the propulsive, driving dance-pop track “Keep Hangin’ On” produced by and featuring Timbaland at the vaunted Hit Factory in Miami.

Meanwhile, the acting bug that began early in life in commercials and a HBO movie continued to inspire Carishma. A graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting, Carishma’s resumé includes a long list of musicals and films that she hopes to continue in the near future.

But that’s the future. For now, the singer’s latest offering is “Glow in the Dark,” the buoyant, infectious pop track produced by Jerkins. Given that Carishma’s dance-pop sound recalls the best of Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and early Janet Jackson—three superstars who have all enlisted Jerkins to help with their sound—the collaboration was a no-brainer.

The track, according to MTV Buzzworthy, “mixes old-school Britney bubble gum with a dreamy guitar riff and sexy, hypnotic beat that perfectly matches Carishma’s dance goddess-y persona.” Directed by Taj Stansberry, whose video for Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” is the second-most viewed music video of all time on YouTube, the “Glow in the Dark” video showcases the singer’s unique beauty and fashion sense. A constant multi-tasker, Carishma co-designed much of the fashion and jewelry seen in the video.

Fans of “Keep Hangin’ On” and “Glow in the Dark” won’t be disappointed by Carishma’s upcoming debut, set for release in summer, 2012. An accomplished songwriter in her own right, the singer has been working with some of the best songwriters and producers in the game today, including J.R. Rotem (Rihanna, Nicki Minaj), Rico Love (Beyoncé, Usher) and Claude Kelly (Britney Spears, Bruno Mars) to create an upbeat, exuberant album that, according to Carishma, “encompasses the feelings of young love.” Carishma never had a Plan B when it came to music, but as her career has shown so far, she doesn’t really need it. With a radio tour, live dates and album all in the works, don’t be surprised if you see some of her inspirations calling her to collaborate in the near future.

Purchase this track on itunes.

Tune in to get in on the action.

Renowned artists such as Tiesto, Hardwell, Laidback Luke, DJ Chuckie, Steve Aoki, DJ R3hab, Wolfgang Gartner, just to name a few have all supported DJMAKJ’s tracks since his competitive debut in the realm of professional DJing and Production.
