3 STRIPES – Bombsteppers

Rewriting the script that uses a sample that I wouldn’t normally do cartwheels and Kurt Angle squats to, 3 Stripes post us a tune called ‘Bombsteppers’ which puts all weekday Fridays on notice and gets things all but started for the weekend. Thriving bass !!!!

BLAC WALDO : Blac Waldo Loves Aerial Noise EP

Well, despite the honourable obvious, everybody @ Aerialnoise.com has just taken their hats off and put their right hands to their temples in salute to Blac Waldo naming his EP after us. Continuing our stance in remaining totally unbiased amidst this fact, his EP genuinely contains a wall-damaging content of four back to back forward-thinking bombs.

Electronic-fying all pitch stretched & pitched down neighbourhoods is where ‘Crooked Mountain’ figuratively stands. Sending Kanye West back to his psychotherapist and psychologist in a post haste tele-porter, is the aptly titled ‘Kanye West Is Dead,’ while ‘My Religion’ describes Waldo’s cause with horrendous toaster-thrown-into-the-bath scenes, equalling for all currents & sockets to be blown up into smudgy fingermark darkness.

‘XSI’ swashbuckles its way down the Aphex Twin and Plastikman side alley, but escapes out through the fluorescent fire exit in an arcade machine gun, fiery line of attack.

Covering a multifaceted selection of genres and music scenes – This-is-smokin’ !!!

Sphoric & Stars Above – Sex On A Beach [Summer Bootleg]

This mashup is a collaboration that Stars Above did with Sphoric and I really think it came out perfect. Incorporating samples from Steve Aoki & Wynter Gordon’s “Ladi Dadi”, Pitbull & Marc Anthony’s Rain Over Me & more, they create a gorgeous summer inspired bootleg that will definitely get you dancing.

SHANE MARTZ vs. KATY PERRY

In a weird state of confusion, multilayered by a swaying intoxicated groove sent into lead vocal oblivion, Shane Martz from Whistler, Canada flings Ms Perry into a permanent state of unconsciousness.

DELETAH – Candy Air

The Goombas have had their heads squashed and bodies thrown in all sorts of directions courtesy of Deletah on previous visits. However, as we all can’t get enough of a good Super Mario and Kill Bill fight, Deletah comes back with an ear-splitting rendition called ‘Candy Air’ – which has no extra added preservatives or E-numbers in sight.

Scion A/V Presents: Moodymann – Picture This EP

Initially we had picked out ‘U Ranaway,’ ‘Pray 4 Love,’ ‘Hold It Down’ and ‘Got 2 Make It’ for a tight lil’ download selection … However due to the powers that be, we’ll have to stress the point to purchase this EP pleasure instead – amongst the fabulous portal of ScionAV.com.

Amid an instant and religious, night time & dominating factor-feel (with a new fan of Moodymann being created over here …), ‘9 Nites 2 Nowhere’ takes you through a proggy electronic journey for just over eight minutes and is intermixed with bumpy rides, a beautiful brass instrument being blown around, and some frisky hi hat drums being played along a seabed of dynamic rivers.

‘Basement Party’ flexes it muscles with a lot of grittiness and chunk, while the fame-four from earlier are the crowning jewels of the EP. There are plenty of piano moments and plenty of off kilter jazz peppers with simlifyed early night funk too.

Detroit’s Moodymann keeps on making it extremely elegant and ravishingly funky.

BJÖRK – Crystalline (Current Value Remix) [One Little Indian Records]

Peppered with major eastern promise and filtered by Björk’s unusual & sexy numinous style, Current Value decides on adding weight, drive and crystal-clarity towards a sagacious, spiritualist Original and turning it into a rough n’ rugged electronica production.

Released on 16 April 2012 through One Little Indian Records as part of an eight part series of selected remixes inspired from Björk’s “Biophilia” LP; other artists to be integrated onto this roll call will be Matthew Herbert, 16 Bit, King Cannibal, Hudson Mohawke, El Guincho, Death Grips, Alva Noto and These New Puritans.

Available on 12” vinyl, CD and digital download, the first entry in the series will include remixes from ‘Crystalline’ and ‘Solstice.’ For every two weeks thereafter, a new collaboration will feature (from the artists listed above) and each entry in the series will also be available as a 500-piece limited edition deluxe package – designed by M/M with special blue mineral papers and embossed foil lettering consisting of an 12” LP and CD.

Belated Easter goodies aside.. this is set up for an April must buy purchase …

DAMN YOU MONGOLIANS feat. KATIE’S AMBITION – Footprints

Naming himself after a phrase that’s taken from a certain South Park episode, Damn You Mongolians lets us know about this inexplicable and striking tune – that’s a two part mixture of dimness and brightness.

Melodic Saturday Night Delight presence, with big time – jumbo-glee!

BO CENDARS + SANDY ESTRADA meet BILLY RAY CYRUS / KING JACKAL & DOMONIQUE

Electronic dance music crunchiness persists on being redefined by Bo Cendars & Sandy Estrada this April, by having Mr. Denim Shareholder in Chief’s (Billy Ray Cyrus) heart torn and dissected – in a way less displeasing to the shocking & reprehensible mêlée conducted in The Human Centipede Two.

Cendars & Estrada’s patent reverb and hip-fire loops fail to diminish alongside Cendars own remix of ‘Babysteps,’ carefully concluding into a replica UK Garage fracas and Ferrero Rocher + Basement Jaxx style-honoured packaging.

Another two super-sized sausages have definitely arrived for the Barbie …

LORN – Ghosst [Ninja Tune]

Ninja Tune keep delivering the goods and AN keeps monitoring the mail …

Taken from Lorn’s “Ask The Dust” LP (and Antarctica man-in-training) which is due out on 18 June 2012, Milwaukee’s Lorn welcomes in further volume and bite more harmful than a nightmarish dog that’s making a beeline to attack you franticly in your nocturnal dreams.

As a lone track that is bass-crunchy with oodles of drops and sways, just make sure that you’re not spinning yourself around & around prior to listening to ‘Ghosst’ – or you might just end up seeing some ruddy things !!!

Introducing.. PICKSTER ONE

In an era where styles, genres, moods, tempos and pitch are being time stretched, altered and auto-tuned, we’ll let slide that so called ten letter word beginning with ‘M’ and focus more on the sound and the energy that electronic music like this can create in particular.

Pickster One from out of Tempe, Arizona commits to some amazing tracks remixed quite uniquely. He teams up with his Washington DC pal Billy The Gent to make a bass heavy fizzy number, with plenty of swirly sirens, goes for gold embracing a bullion sampled Original on JSK’s ‘Extramental,’ and as a finale, collects some of his most prized nuggets conveying a pitched down sound, covering lots of bleeps & acid, and fruity electronic breakbeats.

As a lover of all things melodic and uplifting, I can genuinely appreciate the direction conveyed in these tracks on showcase. But if that ol’ added ingredient was used to speed things up a little tad, then no doubt that these audio morsels would sound even more spectacular then they already are to begin with.

Boys & Girls.. lets give one gracious applause for Pickster One !!!!!!

BINGO PLAYERS – Rattle (Blac Waldo Remix)

Deserving a hell of a lot better – than by just summing up anyones track and calling it “Nice..” Blac Waldo soldiers on through in a rock-solid and housey outline.. rocks up those Wilkinson Sword drums, shines up those carving knifes.. and introduces the world to his collective vision via a blatant Bingo Players staple.

The world as we know it, has found its new charge. And all courtesy of a certain Blac “Mississippi” Waldo.

Watch this space for more Waldo-Mayhem …
