The Road to 1000 Posts!

A couple short announcements today blog-wise. The last post was number 1000! which may not seem like too big of a deal to most of you but to the few that started this thing, we never expected the site to get to where it is today. I just wanted to personally thank our authors who have made this all possible. Their contributions have not only helped us grow and connect with new readers but have allowed the site to expand its musical diversity. We love the different genres that get covered on here daily. Without you all we wouldn’t be where we are today! Thank You!

I also wanted to take the time out again to thank our readers! Without you we also wouldn’t be where we are today. We love reading your comments on posts, artists, and all things music- whether you toss up your views on aerialnoise.com, our facebook page or our twitter page, we are very happy and fortunate to have your feedback! Keep reading and continue to let us know what you like and what you don’t like so we can keep building the site and its features more around you!

If any of you wish to get involved in our site you can check out how to become an author or submit music on our submission info page!

To All You DJs:

Please consider submitting your tracks for our upcoming Aerial Noise Summer Remix Contest! (see below)

*     *     *

We are asking you to take one of your favourite tracks and spin it into something fluent for those lazy summer days and trips to the beach. You can use any song you want as long as it maintains that relaxing/somewhat soothing vibe when you get finished with it.

The most important part is upon sending it to us, label the email as: AERIAL NOISE SUMMER REMIX CONTEST (so we can differentiate submissions from PR and personal emails)

How to get involved:

  • Simply create a mix that is of single song length (generally 3-8 mins) that has a summer feel to it (relaxing, chillwave, ambient, etc.)
  • We ask that you be innovative and make it your own.
  • There are no restrictions on which track(s) you wish to touch up.
  • You can use a remix that you have already created… but we prefer hearing new stuff, so it’s your call as to what you want to submit our way.

*     *     *

  • Submit your mix to us at aerialnoise@live.com and address it to us as AERIAL NOISE SUMMER REMIX CONTEST
  • Be sure to include your name, name of the song and the original artist you have mixed (no one likes to breech copyright violations), and any contact info we may need to follow up with you on.

Contest closes July 31, 2011

What’s at stake:

The winner the contest will receive an exclusive interview for our website, with a direct link from the home page to the interview.

The page will be also accessible from the ‘Interview’ section of our site. It will include a spread that will highlight any information you want: i.e. future and past albums, show listings, and any future and past singles/remixes that the public can look forward to getting their hands on. The page can be easily changed throughout the year to include anything new that comes your way as we progress towards 2012. A feature like this will be hopefully up your traffic and spread the love of music from our fanbase to your records.

We will be marking the track on the following:

  • how creative and innovative the track is.
  • how difficult the mix is (from the original to the final product).
  • how the vocal samples are used.
  • the overall fluidity of the track as a whole.
  • how close the mix sticks to the genre we are looking for.

April 2011 Recap

THE COMPLETE ROBYN DOCUMENTARY.

Home of the Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, The Knife, John Dahlbäck, Avicii, Lykke Li, Adam Beyer, Minilogue and many, many other talented beings.. Robyn and Sveriges TV record a one hour long documentary together highlighting the artist’s initial days as a nineties artist, through to her work on last year’s “Body Talk” – with segments of special off-the-cuff interviews from former managers, music producers and her all important family, spilling the beans about her hectic childhood.

The documentary is entirely in Swedish, however if you glance your eyes below to that ol’ famous You Tube “up-arrow icon” in the bottom right hand corner of the videos.. and then click “CC,” the English subtitles are shown for your viewing pleasure. Thanks goes out to You Tuber – R8ght for providing the translation.

TIËSTO VOTED ‘GREATEST DJ OF ALL TIME’ BY MIXMAG

Mixmag Announces Results Of “Greatest DJ Of All Time” Poll – Tiësto won!!!

Since September 2010 – Mixmag – the world’s biggest clubbing and dance music magazine has asked dance music fans around the world to vote in the only DJ poll that matters: The Greatest DJ Of All Time.

The huge online poll canvassed the views of hundreds of thousands of clubbers asking them to vote and to debate in a shortlist of DJs nominated by some of the biggest stars in dance music….

The results have been confirmed.. and they are mentioned in this months February 2011 issue of Mixmag.

The Top Ten Greatest DJs of All Time are:

1. Tiësto
2. Richie Hawtin
3. Sven Väth
4. Carl Cox
5. Ricardo Villalobos
6. Andy C
7. Paul van Dyk
8. Tony De Vit
9. Sasha
10. 2ManyDJs

SANDER VAN DOORN ON WHY TIËSTO IS THE GREATEST DJ OF ALL TIME:
“Tiësto’s a trance pioneer, but he’s always changing his style. Right now he’s lowered his pace, a really fresh new sound, and he’s at the top of his game. Opening the Olympics in 2004 really set a foundation for trance DJs to build the scene. From the moment I started producing, he picked my music up and promoted it – he’s one of the DJs who got me where I am today. He sells out stadiums, but never comes across as big-headed or arrogant. He’s very approachable, asking questions about music, giving tips and honest opinions. I rate him as an innovator, especially with his latest album, collaborating with artists like Calvin Harris and Jonsi from Sigur Rós. Tijs can play a big arena with his more familiar, commercial stuff, but when he plays a clubbier night he goes deeper, more underground. When we played Beirut he played a phenomenal set; I stayed to the end and I definitely shook a leg.”
