In a tale of two different stories, the super-band of Muse have taken on the reins of having their new song ‘Survival’ adopted as part of the official celebration for the 2012 Olympic Games.

‘Survival’ will be played throughout all of the London 2012 sporting sessions during the entire games, when the athletes enter the stadium, and during the lead up to the medal ceremonies where it will be made available for international broadcasters of the Olympic event to use in their TV programming.

Matt Bellamy from Muse says: “It’s a huge honour to have the track chosen as such a major part of the London 2012 Olympic Games.” “I wrote it with the Games in mind as it expresses a sense of conviction and determination to win.”

For those who don’t know who Muse really are, Muse are Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard. Since forming in 1994, they have released five studio albums selling upwards of 15 million albums worldwide. The group’s last album called “The Resistance” reached number one in nineteen countries around the world, and they have won numerous music awards globally including a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album and an American Music Award for “The Resistance.” Muse will release their new studio album “The 2nd Law” in September 2012 and will tour the world in support of this finest studio release.
