Black Light White Light – “One Fast Move Or I’m Gone”

BLACK LIGHT WHITE LIGHT’s debut album, Infrared Daylight, was recorded in North Hollywood with producer Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Dandy Warhols, Von Bondies). The band has had a busy year. Beside an album release and a mini US tour in October, the band performed in the UK in September at the NXNE, The Music Festival in Toronto in June, and toured Scandinavia, playing with bands like Crocodiles and Crystal Antlers. The new year will see the band tour around Europe and hopefully the US again, and they also plan to spread the word about their new video for ”One Fast Move Or I’m Gone”, and you can check it out below…

Porter Robinson – Tiësto College Invasion Tour 2011 Mini-Documentary

In the short span of just 18 months, Porter Robinson is already experiencing the stuff dreams are made of, and if this mini-documentary is anything to go by, the 19 year old’s career is on target to be one of epic proportions!

Fall 2011 saw the electronic genius accompany Tiësto as part of his College Invasion tour, opening each show with sonic perfection and an unparalleled energy.  Now, as Porter prepares his 2012, the world is treated to a 10-minute insight into the exciting life of one of America’s hottest and youngest talents!

Hundreds of screaming and hysterical fans, an unannounced appearance at a house party and cameos from Diplo, Dada Life and Tiësto make this video one you’ll not want to miss, as Porter tears up the rule book and rips through state after state!

Accompanied by a variety of tracks from his show-stopping EP, Spitfire, including “Unison”, “Spitfire” and “100% In The Bitch”, there could be no better soundtrack to what is a master-class in living life as a teenage superstar.

Satellite Stories – Blame the Fireworks

Satellite Stories is fresh cool party indie band from Oulu, Northern Finland. The band known for their energetic live shows draws inspiration from the likes of Phoenix, The Wombats, Two Door Cinema Club & Vampire Weekend. Recently Finnish music media and music industry professionals chose Satellite Stories as one of the most promising Finnish bands for 2012 (Sound of 2012 Poll of Finland).

Even though they have only released handful of songs, Satellite Stories has already toured Central Europe and played on major Finnish summer festivals. Their songs Helsinki Art Scene and Kids Aren’t Safe in the Metro have been featured on MTV USA and climbed to TOP-10 of The Hype Machine and We Are Hunted. In autumn the band released an acclaimed video for their latest single Family.

On December they are set to release new single called Blame The Fireworks. At the moment Satellite Stories is recording a brand new and truly energetic EP, which will be out internationally in Spring 2012. Satellite Stories – Blame the Fireworks by satellitestories

Tony Castles – “Heart In The Pipes” (KAUF Remix)

Replete with the big bass line that yanks me in every time, Kauf’s latest sees none of the stylistic departures I’d been afraid of. Anyone with any awareness of “When You’re Out”, or the thriller “Relocate”, will immediately recognize Kauf’s playfully foreboding undertones, and the methodical pounding of those dungeon drums, on his new remix of the Tony Castles track, “Heart in the Pipes”.  It’s exactly what we where hoping for from Kauf, whose stylistic identity is reinforced with every dark, new chapter, and I can’t wait to hear the new original stuff in the works. The new remix, plus his prior two releases this year, will certainly wind up on our list of year-end favorites…you can grab the remix at the Lost in Record’s site, www.lostinrecords.com.

She’s the Queen – “Talk to Me”

She’s the Queen is the hopelessly charming electro-pop duo comprised of producer Drew Kuryloski and vocalist Emily White, and we first met them a while back by way of their self-titled debut EP. Emily was nice enough to keep us in the loop and pass along their latest, “Talk to Me”. So infectious, and so danceable, She’s the Queen have really created a signature track with “Talk to Me”, not to mention their most club-ready song thus far. White evokes Thelma Houston or Dona Summer with her sweeping vocals against Kuryloski’s frosty synths, a magical blend that keeps us fixated on every release from the NYC/Philadelphia based duo…

Luxar – “Winter Theme”

For your snowy, digital wonderland, Tom Oke’s Luxar has a pair of electro-hymns suitable to blare out the windows of your one-horse open sleigh. “Danger” and the promising “Winter Theme” bring an icy chill to Oke’s already stone cold dance tracks. Kauf – “Lost in Records Mix”

We introduced you to Ronald Kaufman, AKA Kauf, with the noir thriller “Relocate” a while ago, and we’ve been following him closely since. It’s been a minute, but the Southland’s Kauf has checked in with a DJ set released through the Lost in Records website. He also has a remix for the Tony Castles song, “Heart in the Pipes” coming down the pipe later this month, again through Lost in Records, so we won’t need to wait quite as long for the next Kauf post…Kauf’s music truly captures the darker side of living in Los Angeles, and his captivating, darker perspective explains why he is currently one of the city’s quickly rising stars…
