Happy Thanksgiving to those in The States! Enjoy one last tasty morsel from our favorite Los Angeles hipstertronic project, Magic Machines. His new single is “Come Back”, maybe put it on later to help rouse you from any minor food comas that often come with tryptophan intake….He’s currently working on a full length that should arrive this spring, with two of the LP’s tracks being offered before it’s release. For now, check out “Come Back” and download it as an mp3 or wav from www.magicmachinesmusic.com…

Big Gigantic [Rise and Shine]
Big Gigantic, whose blend of mind-bending beats, thunderous bass, and frenetic melodies has developed a rabid following since forming in 2008, will take their sound to yet another dimension this January when they release ‘Nocturnal.’ The album, by Boulder, CO-based saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken, solidifies Big Gigantic as a key player in the worlds of electronic, dance, and hip-hop.
With a provocative sound that’s as thoughtful as it is danceable, Big Gigantic’s new songs like “Nocturnal” and “Hopscotch” weave whirling melodies into addictive beats and samples that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Kanye West or LCD Soundsystem single. No genre is off-limits for Big Gigantic, whose breakthrough sound channels everything from funk and dub-step to house and hip-hop.
After graduating with a master’s degree in jazz at the Manhattan School of Music, Lalli relocated to Boulder and began performing with Salken, experimenting with the idea of interpreting traditional DJ-based music with live instruments. The duo built up early hype in 2008 with local shows and one-offs around the country before releasing their debut album ‘Fire It Up’ in 2009 and embarking on a full US tour.
Already a smash on the festival circuit, Big Gigantic’s transcendent live shows are a showcase of brilliant improvisation and a tightly-knit bond between Salken and Lalli, who breathlessly alternates between keys, sax and laptop, building a futuristic wall of sound that keeps the crowd on its feet. The marathon shows feature a variety of songs new, old and unreleased, as well as outside-of-the-box remixes including Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow,” Aloe Blacc’s ‘I need a Dollar,’ and Notorious B.I.G.’s “Notorious Thugs.”

MANOR – “Rhodesia”
Adelaide-based duo MANOR materialized nearly a year ago as Nathaniel Morse began writing and collaborating with Caitlin Duff. Touched by The Beach Boys, Paul Simon, and the blurry brilliance of the Cocteau Twins among others, MANOR makes rich, intricate pop music driven by a jangling guitar, and built atop a foundation of multi-layered percussion. The duo’s first single, “Rhodesia”, inspires wonder while acceding skyward towards a spectacular crescendo where spectral, lilting vocals are aligned with Nathaniel’s icy, reverb-drenched guitar. “Rhodesia” is out now on iTunes, and MANOR’s debut LP is currently being recorded, and is due for release in 2012…
Laidback Luke & Example – Natural Disaster [Kryder Remix Preview]
Here’s a track from one of the emerging talents in Europe- the UK’s Kryder. He’s famed for his big room trance and house sounds; the smash hit K2 which was signed by Tiesto and played by all and sundry including the Swedish House Mafia; and his unique ‘sci-fi visor’ look, lunacy and sidekick dwarf in a Mexican wrestling mask.
Kryder was chosen to remix Laidback Luke and Example’s Natural Disaster which you can listen to as a preview below. The full track will be released soon and it’ll be something you will not want to miss!

August Eight Ft. Nina Foot – “Love Trip”
August Eight may or may not have issues with authority, but don’t allow the sporadically surly demeanor to distract from a profound talent that became apparent around age 8. Eight has been an outspoken opponent of self-limitation, and has never believed in stifling other creative urges. Distractions to some, Eight claims his music would be void of it’s signature depth should he be unable to enjoy his alternative artistic pursuits. The primarily self-taught August Eight explains a conspicuous fascination with different genres and artistic mediums by recalling his travels as a citizen of the world; embedding himself amongst our planet’s most exotic societies, soaking up culture, and marveling at indigenous song and dance. A strong believer in not setting limits to what one is capable of, and always overflowing with brilliance, Eight handles his own graphics, photos and website. You might call the 21-year-old Californian an ultra-auteur, who capably produces, mixes and records his own music in a private, self-built studio in the hills above Los Angeles. With plans to release his first official solo project this coming summer, August Eight has been relentlessly writing and producing tracks for an upcoming EP that will mark the beginning of a ceaseless tour of enchantment…

Calvin Harris – Feel So Close
After a few months of listening to Calvin Harris’ single Feel So Close, I can honestly say it has officially grown on me. The multi-talented Scottish DJ, Producer and Singer has created the perfect bassline to accompany his vocals. It’s catchy, invigorating and delightful. The song debuted at number two in Ireland, becoming his highest-charting single in the country. In the United Kingdom, the song debuted at number two becoming Harris’ sixth solo top 10 single. Lately everything he touches turns to dance-like gold.

Enfant – Waking Up The Sun
Enfant are a British electronic music trio consisting of twin brothers Ali Owen, Robin Owen and Ed Ellis. Earlier this year, inspired by some recent records, Robin and Ali decided it was time to ditch their guitars for synths and start a new project. They called in Ed (a previous bandmate) and the three of them hit the studio and began writing.
In August 2011 they emerged from their London basement studio as a collected group with their first tracks. Their debut single and videp, Waking Up In The Sun, was released September 2011 and can be seen/heard above. We think they echo some early Cut Copy and could be destined for some big things.
von Ke [iPad Mash-Ups and More]
vonKe is an unknown German DJ and Producer who was sent to us through one of our fans. He appears to have become semi-popular through his “iPad” mash-ups. They’re decent. But what caught my attention was the unique mixing in his set xqisit.
Check him and his tracks out below and don’t forget to like him on his facebook page.

Billy Palk
Billy Palk is a 21 year old Producer & DJ from Toronto who just released five new tracks worth checking out. Having produced all sorts of music in a variety of genres over the last 4 years, Palk is now completing a house project. The two below are definitely worth mentioning. Shining is an eclectic original with powerful surges of rhythmic synth-house and his mix to Calvin Harris + Rihanna’s We Found Love will speak to a number of individuals in tune with today’s mainstream scene.
Billy Palk is worth following. These tracks and more are available for download on his soundcloud page. Hit em up and bring him to your next party.
