We’ve been sitting on this for far too long Aerials.. so it’s with great honour and pleasure that we bring this newest found band from out of our auditory regions – that is known as League.
Based from out of London, UK and consisting of two former journalism and architecture students, Jorge Ribeiro and José Tornada, decided to drop their studies from their respective courses and then unbelievably, went off to pursue the more broader realms of the mind via the sometimes random and precarious habitat of a beach side tent. In doing so, they became extremely enticed by this tried & tested primal way of living and alongside the natural charms of the open air / tranquil surroundings, they harnessed those images and experiences and used them to create their own class of musical style with seals of modern & urban amplified sonority.
Wanting to outlay an undercurrent of social and emotional issues with a sprinkling psychedelic nature and tribal, ethnic mindsets, ‘Two Wild Hearts’ and ‘Golden Maps’ comes across as two very individual & alternative tunes, stuffed full of loudness & airy-skied dashings with concert madness foresights coated in magnificent vocal/instrument body & depth.
‘Take My Hand’ unravels the magic of the drum kit, percussion instruments and timed atmospheric vocals, so if you looked up the true meaning of Glastonbury from an online picture music dictionary, you would see a healthy definition of League followed by an audio sample of this track.
Hearing these three tracks by League with the volume knobs turned right up, coaxes the soul more for all moments that are loud n’ proud.. so for a mere unsigned band who knows all about the art of real self promotion, the roads to more League recognition, will, and can only be dazzling-bright for Jorge & José.
We look forward to more electric/acoustic guitar, percussive “Tabanca” set synths and rhythmic cool bass/drums.
