Totally formidable with a straight-up, comes-out-of-no-where hook and melody, “Like A G6” since its origins has indeed gone on to become a radio-time and dancefloor favourite across many European dancefloors the oceans wide. For those less sensitive minds who adore the Original Mix, this single sure has a plethora of remixes attached to it, but like with a fair amount of initially well-received Originals that kick start this patent Tsunami of legal/unofficial bootlegs, there only seems to be two currently that stand out to put “Like A G6” in a better light.
Jordy van Oostveen aka Jordy Lishious first got into the whole seam of dance music culture when he started working for Freaky Records in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. After getting immersed into the whole spirit of DJing through some of his local club ventures, he then managed to pick up that ol’ famous golden-ticket-gig, as a new n’ freshly raised resident DJ, for one of biggest clubs in The Netherlands called The Matrixx (located in Nijmegen.)
Numerous productions & remixes soon followed and the transition from eager-eye, to hawk was made. Being able to pick a “15 Minutes Of Fame” spot on Tiësto’s Club Life podcast late last year has certainly helped his profile increase some more and his encapsulation of his “Dope & Dirty” sound and has continued productively by Jordy using those same three words to describe his ongoing club night and his fortnightly podcast of the very same phrase.
The British trio of Atomic Drop on the other hand, have marvelled the anticipated remarks of Deadmau5, Lazy Rich and Tim Healey already with their initial productions, and thus with their own sharing-the-stage example of unadulterated electro house business to captivate the millions they have been fortunate enough to share the stage-billing with Underworld, Faithless and Booka Shade.
Headlining the main stage and the Arcadia stage @ the Glade Festival and the Glastonbury Festival respectively should indeed set a continued road for more creativity and uniqueness, so with more productions and gigs in their foresight then the Plasmapool and Bazooka Records signees should be looking forward to more first-rate things to come.
