She’s the Queen is an electro-pop outfit comprised of producer Drew Kuryloski and vocalist Emily White, and they’ve beautifully intermixed heavy synths and electro/dance rhythms on their magnetic, self-titled debut EP. I’ve been keeping up with the NYC/Philadelphia based duo since hearing The Sanfernando Sound’s remix of Sleepwalker’s Curse. I love the way She’s the Queen have mastered that fragile balance between ice-cold synths and White’s warm, vivid vocals. When you’re not in the mood to get clobbered by bludgeoning dance music, the drifting melodies of the perfectly poppy “Waiting Game” (check it out here), sparkle against subtle drums. “Waiting Game” is a bit of a benchmark for She’s the Queen, and they’re very happy with the way the single, and the EP, turned out, and you can nab it via iTunes now, and I’d also suggest monitoring their soundcloud for more shimmering material, such as Back and Forth, a personal favorite…
