DJ Falcon & Thomas Bangalter – Together (Mac Stanton Mix)

Now this is a true Saturday-Night-Delight, I don’t mind hearing again!

2000 was one of the years where Roulé records was submitting its worldwide dominance across all forms of house music scenes and making certain people like myself to get instantly excited just on the sight of the Roulé record label sleeve in the racks of the record shops! Butterflies-in-stomach memories re-born, Mac Stanton bootlegs this tune up to the stratospheres, 2011-style and gives this a brand swagger in its step and catchy whistle in its mouth. Essential.

On the bonus link comes an originally sourced unreleased track, sent in from one of our Aerials called ‘Yeah Ah Yeah’ by Thomas Bangalter.. so hopefully this won’t turn out like the Avicii ‘Silhouettes’ sham that we fell into too quickly earlier…

DISK JO SLIM – Pursuit Of Perfection

Uplift-personified @ it’s highest order here – which would NOT seem out of place in the darkest and lightest night time gathering spots of Ibiza land and beyond.

LA’s up n’ comer, Disk Jo Slim has reached festival and stadium like moments (from out of nowhere) with this latest and fresh-as-a-baby’s-clean-bottom track. Play this at the right moment within a main room DJ set and the crowd should no doubt be very happy with this epic delight.

As the well as the United Kingdom, Sweden and Canada doing mightily fine things at the moment, Los Angeles, California seems to be a brand new birthplace for decisive, influential music coming out from that region.

We await more Disk Jo Slim’s to fall onto our always clean, and fined tuned ear-wax free antennas.

AQUARIAN DREAM – You’re A Star [Elektra]

Full blown, flawless delivery from United States own Aquarian Dream, majestically arouses the disco fiend in all of us by setting those glitzy dancefloors on display and putting those sometimes sickly commercial-disco moments back, and wayyyy back, into the vaults of obscurity – never to be seen again.

Aquarian Dream in their short but glorious career handled the spotlight and the glamour of the Seventies quite well, but it is only until that era was all-said-and-done, that this 8-piece band gets seen as one of the many cult jazz/disco and funk bands to pursue after. We have a lot to thank Patricia Shannon and Connie Harvey et co for, that’s for sure.

KID MK vs. FREDA PAYNE

Covering or remixing a classic, is, and will always be no small minded feat, so taking onboard ‘I Get High (On Your Memory)’ by Freda Payne would seem like an impossible challenge.

Subtly executed (without mentioning the other hip-hop/rap efforts made previously with this chosen sample), Toronto, Canada’s Alex “Kid MK” Tribe has pulled out an honourable and dark-filthy unique remix of this song which doesn’t  end up making the vocal sample sound like a ruddy chipmunk or time stretching far too slowly!

Setting the ground in a superb old skool, low tempo, breaks n’ hardcore dancey kind of way, Kid MK builds the melody up to a crescendo which unleashes his own f***ing Dada, and puts a bass-twisted melody in there to drop the pretenders off the deck and to permanently fix the headstrong sailors amongst this soul-glazed crew.

David Blaine can’t make this one disappear, that’s for MK!

RETURN TO MONO are here!

“Hail Spray Tan” is Return To Mono’s motto it seems, but there is absolutely nothing fake about this fresh San Francisco band, I can tell ya!

Setting off proceedings with an octane-precise ‘back-to-the-nineties-feel’ in ‘Framebreaker,’ lead vocalist Tanya Kelleher, guitarist J.G. Paulos and keyboard man and beat conductor, Andy Sybilrud, release a more firmer electronic-rock-mode to the Stone Roses, and a more faster and construct version of Morcheeba meeting with a Roland 808 acid machine. ‘Seeker Circuit’ fits into that mould quite nicely and ‘Song Of The Beast’ is that pert little cherry on top of Return To Mono’s epically strong fruit salad.

Packed full of stretched dynamic performance and rigorous clarity to warp this sound together, Return To Mono with Tanya Kelleher’s vocals attached, will bring further excitement to new found fans within. Terrific tracks from Alpha to Omega!

FRANCOBOLLO – Try?

Hailing from that ultra melting pot of beautiful empires once again, Sweden refuses to let go its stronghold on worldwide music dominance and throws us another soundcheck towards a most positively sounding quartet, shouting all sorts of twisted, opening bar riff country music action, glossed over with watertight head-nodding electronic danger.

If setting apart your differences and getting immersed in a swimming pool of gentle-barbaric audio damage was your goal, then don’t let me stop you in enjoying the aura of ‘Try?’ by Francobollo.

Next gig for these guys is on Saturday 14th May 2011 @ The Silver Bullet, 5 Station Place, Finsbury Park, London, United Kingdom (which is right near the tube station), so let’s party like there’s no tomorrow!

CUT COPY – Need You Now (Carl Craig Remix)

It’s always immense to see two “greats” teaming up together to make more of a hit then the initial Original!

So in comes the electronica and film score writer, composer and remixing legend - Carl Craig - to sanctify Cut Copy’s ‘Need You Now’ to flawless, unblemished perfection.

Thirteen plus minutes of dreamy, but simple melodic business puts Cut Copy into those spots that dance music and rock fans have always seemed to give a wink and a nod too! We let the Carl and the Copy’s continue…

FUNKTIONS

World oh Lord, I am glad to be alive, for it is all that you bring forth which sends me into the world of Sire FUNKTIONS.

Yes… Yet another up n’ coming superstar-in-the-making has touched base with all the Aerial Noise faithful and after taking lots of cold showers to cool off, we’re even more super-excited than before to bring you this piece of housetastic-magnificent-action to let your heart n’ ears decide about how funky the FUNKTIONS truly is.

Setting the standard extremely high for all fruits and spirits who are disco, funk and filtered based, USA’s one-man-wreaking-machine in FUNKTIONS puts his devilishly house cause down, and Hollywood Boulevards is sound to a most welcomed audience. Stunningly crafted with love, Mister FUNKTIONS has arrived without all the machine hype.

Let’s enjoy!

ALVIN CASH – Keep On Dancing [Festival Records]

Alvin Cash and The Crawlers marvelled the world with their far but few releases of ‘Funky 69,’ ‘Whip It On Me,’ and ‘Twine Time,’ but it was his relentless pursuit of that magic late 60’s to 80’s formula, which kept up-tempo soul fans, funk-heads and disco party lovers on their soft little driven big smiles and toes. Alvin Welch aka Alvin Cash, may you R.I.P.

MONDRIAN – Whippersnapper EP

Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls, and women of a pregnant disposition…

If you are easily sickened or have a dodgy tummy, then don’t even think about hitting the play button on the first video of this Mondrian instalment has it is delicately gross, to coin a new phrase…

Initial, before-the-watershed-warnings aside, Four Horseman Of The Apocalypse stalwarts, Mondrian are overly excited to announce their refreshingly stimulating EP entitled “Whippersnapper” which is available to download through Bandcamp.

It’s a three track hot bed of motionless, guitar led melodica, simplified over with enthusiastic and mellow vocals with that all important depth and soul which a fair few of tracks hurtling around lack.

Creating a unique three for three special, the French four-ring collection of Roman Oswald, Morning Crash, Demoiselle and Cyrille Fournel carry off into the sunset a perfectly built EP for forthcoming season.

Below is ‘A Kiss A Day,’ which is featured on the “Whippersnapper” EP and two extra videos entitled ‘Last Breakfast On Planet Surf’ and ‘Love, a Collision’ taken their earlier “Pop Shop” EP.

Special thanks goes out to NYSU Films for making their visual representations thus far.

A CERTAIN RATIO – Tumba Rhumba [Soul Jazz Records]

Imagine hearing one of the most random and homely sounding tracks in the background of your neighbours BBQ or at a full blown, hows-ya-father wedding reception… Well.. this track by A Certain Ratio may well be it with its part Latin and tribal roots, but it’s certainly not missing any good old fashioned funk needed for those dodgy Uncle/Granddad dances we may always tend to see. Deeeelicious work from this seminal Manchester, England band.

FEAR OF TIGERS – Study Hard Drugs School

Taken from a most uniquely placed LP entitled “Cossus Snufsigalonica” (which references to ‘something quite wonderful’ in the producers eyes..) UK’s Benjamin Berry aka Fear of Tigers instils a cryptic and eighties like vision with emotional reach and funk. Simply a track for all those who are not afraid of tigers and man-eating animals!

PLANNINGTOROCK – Doorway (Creep Remix)

Janine Rostron aka Planningtorock is simply scary. Not scary in the SAW movie franchise kind of way, but scary in the way of chilling your mind/ears over with an excessively perfect flow of beats. Centred in one of the many highly prolific European capitals for electronic dance music as a whole, Berlin hosts Planningtorock’s drive, whilst DFA and Rostron Records take care of all of the PR work and future bookings.

Brooklyn, New York’s duo of Creep are Lauren Flax and Lauren Dillard-sensational.. so they both deliver a glossy coating in melancholy and uplift, you don’t know whether to get your tissues out or to have a slow but effective sway from side to side. The xylophones will always be magic in my book.
