Emanating from the suburbs of Versailles, France are four men known has Thomas Mars (on vocals), Deck D’Arcy (on bass), Christian Mazzalai (on guitar) and Laurent Brancowitz (on guitar).
Their name “Phoenix” was coined in 1996 after Laurent Brancowitz’s former band – Darlin’ – disbanded in 1995. The other two members of Darlin’ were Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo who went on to form the group we now know as Daft Punk.
Even though they don’t have any long standing drummers or keyboardists within Phoenix, that hasn’t prevented them from creating some of most enduring and eternal sounding songs ever.
From the same imaginative era that brought us Mellow, AIR and the almighty Daft Punk, we bring you a showcase of the Grammy award winning band whose career highlights include four studio albums, one remixed album and numerous singles & EP’s releasing the energy we’ve all come to adore as Phoenix.
My most loved track in their entire catalogue has to be ‘If I Ever Feel Better’ accompanied by two unstoppable remixes by The Buffalo Bunch and Todd Edwards. Unforgettable is a quality which sums up those two mixes – right there.

PHOENIX – Alphabetical LP {2004}
Hindsight and reflection seem to be the overall message from this friday night delight which enhances their ‘french sound’ even further. “Alphabetical” puts them on course for redefining that fine line between high & low energies and that superb, subtle funky movement.

PHOENIX – Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix LP {2009}
Highlighting one of their tracks entitled ‘Love Like A Sunset, Pt. I’ (which wouldn’t sound out of place on a future TRON soundtrack in the making), is their fourth collection of super-Phoenix-branded hits. High energy moments that put the solid oomph in all things euphoria & Cheshire grins, is this glorious piece of work enabling these guys to move forward for all things 2011 and beyond.
