The First Ever Aerial Noise Mini-Mix Contest!

Since we are ringing in a new year, some of us here at aerial noise thought it would be awesome to start opening up the site even more to artists, specifically by sharing some of your very own mini-mix’s with the world! Therefore we are starting up our very first Mini-Mix contest!

How to get involved:

  • Simply create a mix that is no longer than 20 minutes using your favourite artists, tracks, samples and beats.
  • We ask that you be innovative and make it your own.
  • There are no restrictions on the amount of artists or genres you can blend together.
  • You can use a mini-mix that you have already created… but we prefer hearing new stuff, so it’s your call as to what you want to submit our way.

  • Note that we tend to favour electro, disco, disco-house and funk beats.
  • Submit your mix to us at aerialnoise@live.com and address it to us as AERIAL NOISE SPRING MINI-MIX CONTEST 2011.
  • Be sure to include your name, name of the mix, the tracklist and any contact info we need to follow up with.
  • Contest closes February 14th, 2011.

What’s at stake:

The winner of our first contest will receive the very first ever exclusive interview to be held on our website, with a direct link from the home page to the interview that will last forever.

The page will be accessible from a future ‘Featured Artists’ section. It will include a spread that will highlight future and past albums, show listings, and any future and past singles/remixes that the public can look forward to getting their hands on. The page can be easily changed throughout the year to include anything new that comes your way as we progress towards 2012. A feature like this will be hopefully up your traffic and  spread the love of music from our fanbase to your records.

If we get a large enough response with this one we hope to do this every 3-4 months.

We will be marking the mix on the following:

  • how creative and innovative the track is
  • how smooth the fluidity of each transition from track to track is/or beat to beat is within the song
  • how the vocal samples are used within the track
  • the overall fluidity of the track as a whole
  • how close the mix sticks to the featured genres of aerial noise
  • how the mix adhere’s to the above parameters we have set. (not longer than 20 mins, etc etc)

Remember:

No Rules – No Restrictions – Make It Your Own

  1. very, very good question. I should have elaborated a bit… my bad.

anyway, we have three people who post on the blog so it will be a decision made among the panel.

we will be marking the mix on the following:

    - how creative and innovative the track is
    - how smooth the fluidity of each transition from track to track is/or beat to beat is within the song
    - how the vocal samples are used within the track
    - how unique the samples actually are (whether you are using well known tracks are samples from the archives)
    - the overall fluidity of the track as a whole
    - how close the mix sticks to the featured genres of aerial noise
    - how the mix adhere’s to the above parameters we have set. (not longer than 20 mins, etc etc)

hopefully that helps. toss out any other questions you have
