Yuksek!

Yuksek, you make me sick! With tons of great remixes it’s hard to believe we haven’t posted on him for such a long time. To those that were ‘waiting’, wait no more! The time is here. Yuksek is back.

The Oh Land remix was a surprise for me. Never really gave it a hard listen until recently and thanks to some free time, he’s now back on repeat across my speakers.

After you listen to these great tracks head on over to itunes or beatport for more. Stay savvy and purchase your tunes.

Nicolas Jaar

Caught a listen of a few edits from New York based Nicolas Jaar these past few days (they released a couple weeks ago). The music the 20 year-old produces is real funky and disco-based.  It’s hard not to see why they have been getting so much playtime among other blogs.

Nicolas was born in NY and raised in Chile but at the age of 11 went back to NY with his family. Being in the music hub, he started composing piano-based tracks until he discovered electronic music. At the ripe age of 17 he submitted his first track to the label Wolf & Lamb, which fascinated them enough to work out a deal. Nicolas Jaar has been expanding ever since.

Meridene

If you have not been introduced to them already… let me proudly introduce Meridene. They are an indie-pop foursome based out of Wisconsin who have been steadily working to increase their following after their debut album released in 2008 entitled You’re Not Pretty, Youre Worse.

The guitar rifts in our featured song Parade of Fools is something else and is off the sophomore full-length album Something Like Blood. Catchy, electric, and defiant, it’s one of those tracks that will hook you instantaneously.

If you were one of the thousands that enjoyed Two Door Cinema Club’s What You Know then you will surely like what follows below.

Florence & The Machine – Cosmic Love

A classic from Florence & the Machine turned magnificent remix comes to us in Cosmic Love, an encompassing soft electric melody that will clog your pores and lift your spirits. Flor uses that eclectic voice that makes her so unique within the industry. I love her stuff- (find more here). The short club edit is dynamic and innovative. Its been a longtime favourite of mine for awhile now.

The original version of “Cosmic Love” arrived as a single on July 5.10. Buy more Florence & The Machine here.
