Moonchild [Remixes]

Moonchild is a one man machine coming straight from the Sydney disco hot-bed. His first single Girl is expected to be released in the coming months. The Michael Jackson remix to Say Say Say is one of a kind. I don’t jump on too many MJ remixes nowadays after we were all overwhelmed with them when he died. The man was a legend- we all know that. But Moonchild has a chance at making something legend-ary with this mix. Those who argue against technological advancement need to listen to this first. Antoine sure honed some skills with modern equipment. Mad props to Stoneyroads. As usual they stay on top of it all.

In and effort to find some more Moonchild (massive failure in that dept.), I came across this Cibo Matto purely by chance… and I’m sure you can all figure out how. Moonchild has some delicious piano breaks and funk rifts throughout. So as a tribute to the Sydney DJ’s debut on here we offer this thanks and an unrelated random. Find more Cibo Matto here.

The C90s [10:01]

Well this is refreshing! The C90s released 10:01 earlier this month with a remix by Villa and they both kick ass. Villa’s rendition spices up original with some great disco accents. The C90s original 10:01 was released on Headman’s Relish. It’s an impressive track on an even more impressive label with the likes of up-and-comer’s Tape To Tape. This London-based project is fantastic and only getting started.  Check out this delicious C90s remix to Tape to Tape’s  The Devil Made Me Do It Pt. 1 as a little bonus. You’ll be happy you did.

Bit Funk [Remixes]

I ran into some new Bit Funk mixes from the Toronto/Chicago-based producer last week.  Since then, the Kirstenana mix keeps on hitting my speakers.  It has a pure disco melody that works so well with the vocals.

Bit Funk has dropped some historic beats in the past.  If you missed out on Love Scientific or A Question For You, now’s the time to pick em up.  Both are excellent! I look forward to hearing more and can’t wait for the next show to hit the GTA area. I’ll keep you updated if I hear anything.

Follow Bit Funk on Twitter.

Daso [Instrumentalist Extroadinaire]

Hard-pressed by assignments and other upcoming deadlines? Daso has created a bunch of tracks great for killing the dead air without taking you off task! Haha I sound like some lame tv-promo salesman, but still Daso has put together a bunch of great vibes that are seriously good for just about anything. Real laid back and delicious! And best of all, if you like these you will most definitely like these too!

Daso is bouncing around in his home country Germany all month with a bunch of show dates lined up. Check here for those.

Telephoned do everything except phone it in

Dance music generally follows different tenets based on its place of origin. While these characteristic beats and sensibilities create new music that immediately sounds familiar, it often maintains these boundaries. As familiar as a set of hip-hop hits recast as dance music may appear, the New York duo Telephoned are out to eliminate boundaries and create radio-ready music that subverts these long respected rules.

The standout “Rockin’ That Thang” reframes The Dream’s hit from last year as both classic disco and its French counterpart that emerged in the 1990s. That blend is what makes the music of Telephoned so different. “Turn My Swag On” booms out of your stereo with that same Soulja Boy beat that rattles the windows (and singer Maggie Horn’s charming snarled ‘whassup’) before resting the hook and taking an unexpected left-turn into a dub beat accented by an LFO toasting.

These ideas are what separates Telephoned from those who would simply choose to distill a hit song into their own. Sammy Bananas reveals with a little attention to detail (and a little less driving the hook into your skull for four straight minutes), that beneath these covers – Telephoned offers a lot of promise.

Enjoy these tracks from the EP and more on Telephoned’s new mixtape, Off The Hook, which you can download at RCRD LBL.

You’re Going To Age [Schaatz Remix]

Yes it’s inevitable. We’re all going to age. I just didn’t know aging was going to sound so good. Schaatz latest remix, You’re Going To Age is making quite the impact across the blog world.  The boys from France first came to me on 317 electro where they threw down with a couple bangin’ originals in Barbara Lisa Chloe and Terminus.  Since then they’ve really honed their own style.

There’s a lot more fun and funk coming through in this new Digits twist. That bass to start things off is killer and the light synth to give it backbone just finishes it off.

Cecile & Venice [Requiem+Rimmel]

Cecile & Venice are getting tons of attention over their collaborative work together. Requiem just hit me within the past few days and I’m liking it more and more after each listen. There’s a dark and powerful electro vibe within and the use of the string sample is pretty damn good. Rimmel is the track I attribute a lot of the hype over. It’s what first got me excited about the project.

If you’re in Italy, that’s where they’re partying. Buy their music here.

ELEPHANT SHOESSS

Just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up on DJ Megaphoneteeth’s new project ELEPHANT SHOESSS. We used to work together back on a previous project and well, you could always count on the ‘teeth to find something fresh and soulful. The blog is still relatively new but knowing the music that will be gracing it soon, you’ll want to bookmark it immediately!

Fabio Lendrum – Trouble [CFCF Remix]

We have covered a lot on CFCF already (see past 1 | 2), so there’s no need explaining why we’re sharing Silver’s latest remix to Fabio Lendrum’s Trouble. We’re just damn lucky it’s a good track. Using Lendrum’s exemplary vocals, Mike Silver puts together a great light disco remix slapping it with that crisp CFCF piano-key style. It’s a great play for speakers everywhere.

Artie Flexs

Artie Flexs is a rising star from Latvia who began DJing back in 2002.  His music can be described as progressive (something I’m not a HUGE fan of) but he makes very good use of synthesizers and bass lines which bring a euphoric sound to his music. His latest release and his first LP, entitled “Journey” was released by UK’s Lost Dog Records. Check out these two tracks below and if you like what you hear, download the full album here!

P.S. This is my first post for Aerial Noise and I can’t tell you how amped I am to be on board with these guys. Cheers and happy listening!

Blacklight Flashlight [2010?]

It’s been awhile since we last heard from Blacklight Flashlight but they are back putting more stuff up on their myspace.  Last year was pretty good. They released two great tracks that hit me right- one remix and one original. Some of these you may or may not know.  Either way, I included them below. And as far as know the new mixes hitting myspace are not yet released, so go here to listen to them!

Dreaming In was first introduced to me by an old roommate. Since then it continuously fought my computer for being the best laid-back instrumental of all 2009. I could not get enough of it at the time. Now it comes up as one of my ‘Remember then?’ tracks to play. Perfect for long drives or when you’re lost at 3 am in the morning.

Paul Anthony & ZXX [Love Will Find You]

Paul Anthony & ZXX’s cut to Love Will Find You is a fantastic remix. It has phenomenal rhythm and yet, there’s really not much too it. I don’t know but for me it seems to hit all the right places.

The Chicago-based producers work well together. ZXX hits Denver, Colorado late March 2010, whereas Paul Anthony is about to start a mini tour himself.  Find him breaching the border to hit Canada April 1st to likely… April 12th, 2010 (not all dates confirmed). Check his myspace for continuous updates on that, but if you’re near a major Canadian city chances are he’s coming your way.

Niterockets [The Awakening]

Niterockets are all about bringing it back to the 90s. The Biarritz, France duo trace their epic techno-house roots to the backyards of Chicago. The newest track to come across my speakers The Awakening is full of heavy house beats, hand-claps, and rhythmic synth. It has just enough of everything to bring the party that much closer to one another.

Niterockets are on Tracy Recordings.
