Ladyhawke Remixes [Delerium & Embrace]

Walter Sobcek released a new remix to Ladyhawke’s Delerium.  This track just doesn’t get old. Sobcek’s edit is based on soft melodies all while tossing in Ladyhawke’s unique and distinctive vocals.  The two make a beautiful combo together.

The second remix is by far my favourite Ladyhawke remix ever.  It was pulled from the archives so its not new by any means. Fred Falke and Miami Horror do wonders for this remix.  It is a perfect blend of signature synth from Falke, amazing originality by Miami Horror, and effortless vocals by Ladyhawke to tie it all together beautifully.

WKBDYB? [Extended Edits]

What Kind Of Breeze Do You Blow? are truly skilled at making those soft eclectic, tropical, disco-house beats that can easily captivate you.  The Toronto-duo have recently hit up my library with yet another edit- this time to Kings of Convenience.  While it is their typical soft mellowed out brilliance we’re all accustomed too, the track is laced with some terrific piano breaks making it oh so good.  Click below if you don’t mind drifting off to some mellow sounds.

Billy Ocean [Rayko Remix]

Tracasseur helped put me into the 80s vibe with a great remix to Billy Ocean’s European Queen.  I wouldn’t be surprised if many of you recognize the original sound poking its head through Rayko’s beat.  If disco-house is your thing like it is mine, than there is no doubt you will absolutely love this track.  Anything reminiscent of the 80s synthesizer just speaks to me.  Much thanks to the Stockholm gang for posting this.

VHS or Beta [Remixes]

VHS or Beta are the Indie-Rock band who regular appear to get caught up in the Dance scene.  Feel It When You Know is a track that recently underwent a bit of a facelift by La Riots and consequently, was turned into gold. Maybe this comment came a little too soon to the release of CFCF’s Midas Touch from just the other day but regardless, this remix is pretty kick-ass. The DJs are currently preparing for a small US tour beginning at the end of the month and lasting throughout most of December.  If you want to warm up to some great beats this winter check out their myspace for further tour info.

Included below is the Fred Falke remix that should not be overlooked.

MAU [Rockets Remixes]

In 2004 MAU (Man and Unable) were created in Denmark before jumping ship to Lisbon, Portugal.  Now the group are working on their third album after releasing Man and Unable in 2006, and Tales of Wonder, Fur and Deception in 2008.  The Rockets remix is a bit of a playback from the last month but is a great tease for the next album due out in January. The extended dub is really where it’s at, but the original remix is pretty decent too and brings in many of the original vocal samples.

Bill Withers [Henrik Schwarz]

Henrik Schwarz changes things up on here with a lil funky jazz edit to Bill Withers Who Is He. This track is dirty.  If you like real chillin’ rhythm and laid-back vocals or something new with a funk-dub twist, then look no further.  Schwarz is here and hails from Germany.  He regular dips into the house/jazz scene, so if you like this there’s more available at his myspace including a list of upcoming shows you should definitely hit.  I just stumbled across him this past week so this song below is the first track that hooked me. It’s great. I hope you enjoy it.

MYNC [Returns!]

MYNC are back! Mark Brown and Nick Correlli are back after taken 18 months apart to work on solo projects. They’re now working on a compilation album with Harry Choo Choo Romero and Jose Nunez. To celebrate the new partnership and artistic album to come they have recently released two exclusive tracks for listeners to sample. Both are pretty decent and have their own unique rough edge to them.  Check out myspace for more and keep an eye out for the project’s upcoming album.

CFCF [Remixes]

We have two new track’s from CFCF that are out of this world. First up is a brilliant instrumental entitled Monolith. It really is an unbelievable soundscape. At first it comes in so smooth and really is stunningly beautiful.  But then, just when you least expect it, the keys drop and…wow, captivating. You hooked me. The second is a vibrant dreamy remix to Midnight Star’s Midas Touch. I really dig it. The disco vibes are irresistible. You may catch yourself groovin’ to it just a little before it’s done.  Mike Silver really is a master at mixing and it shows in the tracks below.

Monolith comes off off the debut album Continent.  Buy it now from Amazon.

Bogdan [Edits]

The strings within this track are amazing.  Bogdan lays down his signature soft structured harmony in a cut and paste edit of Billing and Russel on This Is How We Walk On The Moon.  He released the track with a bunch of new reworks that can be found over at his myspace.

Over the summer Bogdan released another great edit.  Since we were not established back then I thought I would include it now.  It is a light funk track that contains many disco-based samples.

Cinnamon Chasers Minimix

Russ Davies, the one man wrecking crew that is the Cinnamon Chasers has produced a spectacular minimix.  The music itself is an illusion of sound. It’s something that feels timeless, endless, and can easily captivate you in every aspect.  Luv Deluxe, arguably the Chasers most dominant and recognizable track is a magnificent production piece.  It’s one of those tracks that always catches you just right no matter what your mood.

This minimix showcases a lot of the technical capabilities Davies holds.  We were lucky enough to get it in our inbox.

Cinnamon Chasers are represented by the label Modus Records.

Broke One [Voyager]

Broke One’s new remix to Daft Punk’s Voyager is innovative but nothing new coming from the Italian-based DJ who continues to amaze me.  He has an impressive history producing great remix after remix and this one, safe to say, is ready for the collection.  The hand-claps and sporadic synth drops separate this track from other DP mixes that have came this way.  I’m a big fan of both these artists so this is a bit of a win-win.

These last three tracks are exceptional oldies but there’s no shortage of excellent Broke One tracks available off beatport.  Hit em up if you have the chance.

Den Haan [Russian Boat Commander + Heist]

Den Haan has been making some of the smoothest disco melodies lately. The UK duo boast a unique ability in creating new eclectic space-odyssey type tracks.  Russian Boat Commander is a great example of this style.  It has an epic blend of dark vocals and dreamy instrumentals.  Heist is a little different moving up tempo a bit from its RBC counterpart.  It’s heavy in rhythm with one funky bass line.  Add  in a little synth mixer and you can’t go wrong.

Funk D’Void [All That Matters]

Funk D’Void has just created one of my new top electro-funk soundscape’s of the past week.  All That Matters is a delicious combination of smooth synth and funky rhythm.  Each component is flawlessly threaded into the next creating a perfect blend of beat and flare.  By far one of the more entertaining things to hit my speakers in awhile.

Lars Sandberg AKA Funk D’Void, is a DJ and producer who has been at the forefront of the global electronic music scene since the mid-90s. He started Djing at around the age of 15, running two under-18 clubs himself – a perfect start to his career. Knowing his vocation to music from an early age after being brought up by his professional pianist mother, Lars never had any doubt as to where his future would lie.  His passion and talent transcends through the music he makes creating a very personal experience for any listener.

Facebook appears to be the primary method to stay connected to Lars.  Add him, fan him, and send him props there.

Kasper Bjørke [WhoMadeWho & Tomboy Remix]

Kasper Bjørke‘s new single is absolutely dirty. The track was was released on HFM two weeks ago and has since exploded across the net.  Thomas Barfod and WhoMadeWho celebrated its release by producing its best remix yet.  I just can’t get enough.

Bjørke‘s new single can be found on his new album set to be released in early 2010.

Kasper Bjørke – Young Again (WhoMadeWho & Tomboy Remix)

If you like what you hear, Barfod has a wide array of new funky electro beats and dreamy-synth soundscapes on his myspace that are worth checking out.

Boy 8-Bit [Past+Present]

Boy 8-Bit knows how to put some invigorating bass line combo’s together. If you like it heavy and pulsating than the UK native has something right for you.  He acquired his name by using an old school Amiga to make music with back in the day. It required 8-bit samples, so ever since he was a wee boy Boy 8-Bit just stuck. Names are irrelevant if you’re producing money like this anyway.  Check out Quicksand, it’s gold.
