Black Eyed Peas [Van Scott Remix]

Monday, November 30th, 2009

I usually pass over mainstream music just because well, I’m generally sick of it all.  However, there comes a time when a remix will just absolutely make a track.  This is what happens when the Black Eyed Peas are touched up by Van Scott. This remix is amazing! I actually had another track queued up in my mind to end the weekend but had to change it once I heard this.

I love the heavy electro bassline that rips this track apart all the way through.  Fergie’s vocals (I hate to admit it) top the track off when Scott uses the sample about three and a half minutes in  It’s an instant late night killer!

Black Eyed Peas – Meet Me Halfway (Van Scott Remix)

Beyonce – Sweet Dreams (Dskotek Remix)

Sia [You've Changed]

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Sia brings about one of the best electro-pop tracks I have heard in awhile.  It’s fun and catchy, everything you would really expect from a pop princess.  You’ve Changed has a real emotional vocal performance throughout.  The vibrant rifts always help too.  She is currently touring Australia but should be home for Christmas haha… just in case you’re a relative I guess?

It’s something a little different today to spark up some variety.

Penguin Prison [Remixes]

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Alright so a few days back we were raving about these new remixes to finally grace Monarchy’s myspace. Well, we finally scored some copies.  One of them is a phenomenal disco take to Penguin Prison’s A Funny Thing. It’s real fun and playful.  Without a doubt it has that catchy vibe that will have you hooked and singing by the end of it.

Bonus!

Erik Hassle – Hurtful (Penguin Prison Remix)

Dance Anthems [Various Remixes]

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Alright well seeming as its Friday and I have had a bunch of great new dance tracks come to me over this past week, I thought I would do a little combo post with a couple of them.

Steed Lord are just brilliantly ballin out lately with some real special remixes. I first came across the group through a Russ Chimes remix we posted the other day. While it’s extra special, I have to say this new remix gives it some competition. The NY crew Steed Lord have recently released The Truth Serum last Nov 03.09, which can be purchased off beatport. It is a great album with lots of fresh sounds and remixes including this gem found below.

Steed Lord – Boy U Know (Jungle Fiction Remix feat. Vyle)

Kesha’s new music video dropped this month to her August hit Tik Tok. The new remix from DJ Skeet Skeet brings a bit of a twist from the overproduced pop original. Even though it’s hard to get by the vocals, which sound largely filtered, this track still offers a pretty solid blend of danceable electro-pop vibes. It’s your typical dance party anthem and will definitely have the girls moving.

Air France [Remixes]

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Air France’s touch on Saint Etienne’s Spring brings a little up tempo to a classic. There is a real soft soul/funk vibe coming through in this track that I’m loving.  Saint Etienne consist of Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley, and Pete Wiggs. All of which come together to produce some interesting alternative electronica. They have a lot of great stuff online. Follow up if you want to hear something else good.

Air France on the other hand have hit my library a number of times. I really enjoy what they do to this track. If you’re new to AF definitely look into their rendition of Friendly Fires Skeleton Boy. It’s absolutely fantastic!

Bloc Party [Remixes]

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Bloc Party were one of those influential bands that swayed me back to dance beats.  Even though I grew up with some form of dance music playing in the background hip hop and rock music dueled to compete for the most played genre in my library. Bloc Party were that in between… the little indie, little rock, little electro, little interesting, and a lot unique band.  At least when it came to four years ago, there was a lot to capture for someone listening to a BP track.

Typically, it was their hit banquet that took me by storm.  But not with the original- the Phones dance remix.  That remix was a beauty! So to pay a small tribute to the remix that made me seek out other remixes… we salute you and all the other BP remixes that knock our socks off!

Bloc Party – Zephyrus (Holy Fuck Remix)

BONUS!

Bloc Party – Signs (Armand Van Helden Remix)

Bloc Party – One More Chance (Alex Metric Remix)

Bloc Party – Hunting For Witches (Crystal Castles Remix)

Bloc Party – Hunting For Witches (Villains Remix)

Bloc Party – Banquet (Phones Disco Edit)

CCENTURIESS [Remixes]

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

CCENTURIESS are back with a killer remix to Fan Death! This track was leaked to the blogosphere sometime a week ago but only recently hit the artists myspace page.  Therefore I was a little hesitant to post it before but now that we’re certain, even if we’re a week late, this track is definitely worth the time.  There’s a lot of good stuff within.  Tune into remixes from GoldenGirls and Lioness to hear some other goodies.

Fan Death – Reunited (CCENTURIESS Remix)

BONUS!

GoldenGirls – Do The Criminal (CCENTURIESS Remix)

Lioness – You’re In My Heart (CCENTURIESS Remix)

GRUM [Remixes]

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

GRUM is back with yet another stellar remix. Took The Night is the next edition added to his repertoire and while the vocals take a second to get used too, the song is fantastic.  It will definitely leave a mark on the dance floor.  Show it to your girl, get her digging on it and she will take the night.  GRUM does a masterful job mixing some killer beats together for this one. This track comes highly recommended.*

Chelley – Took The Night (GRUM Remix)

Oh and the rest of these are pretty damn good as well. Tweak up your library GRUM-style!

Anoraak – Nightdrive With You (GRUM Remix)

Tommy Sparks – Miracle (GRUM Remix)

Friendly Fires – Skeleton Boy (GRUM Remix)

Passion Pit – To Kingdom Come (GRUM Vocal Mix)

Freeland – Borderline (GRUM Remix)

Russ Chimes [Remixes]

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

I finally got a hold of some new Russ Chimes! This guy is spectacular. We already mentioned him slightly when he touched up Mowgli’s Road, but Russ Chimes is a London-based producer and DJ who always seems to deliver. I’m still waiting to hear a bad remix from him so if you know any please send them my way… until then check out everything.

The best way to describe the music I think is to describe the experience. I go to a party, put on some Russ Chimes, and for some reason people go nuts. Maybe it’s consuming copious amounts of alcohol, or maybe it’s our addiction to dance music, but whatever it is having people let loose is a thrill that Chimes somehow embeds in his music. The dancing thing is a weird phenomenon you should try out sometime at your parties.  It just may work for you.

Steed Lord – Remember Me (Russ Chimes Remix)

BONUS!

Fabian – Heatwave (Russ Chimes Remix)

Heads We Dance – Sirens (Russ Chimes Remix)

Justin Faust – Revenge (Russ Chimes Remix)

Frankmuzik – Confusion Girl (Russ Chimes Remix)

Russ Chimes – Mulsanne

Gold In The Fire [Monarchy+Diamond Cut]

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

The original is a month old but still has that soft captivating sound that we all enjoy. I was buzzin off Gold In The Fire for its initial three weeks before it slowly started to fade from my speakers and take its rightful place within my library. The London-based duo Monarchy have a lot of people talking after October’s debut success.

They have finally released some new tracks!! All of which are actually not half bad. I’m a big fan of the Penguin Prison Remix (found on myspace).  Still, I haven’t been able to find anything released to share but if something comes up I will definitely toss it up.  For now check out all the new stuff on their myspace.

What prompted me to bring this track back up again is the brand new remix by Diamond Cut. I know we just mentioned them a few days prior but we somehow crossed paths or were writing the post as he was producing because we somehow missed it.  It’s a great 80s-esque remix.  I dig it.

Monarchy – Gold In The Fire (Diamond Cut Remix)

Justin Faust [Remixes]

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Justin Faust is somewhat of a remix god when it comes to producing danceable music.  He started producing house-music in 1992 and has since released a bunch of records over the years.  Faust is recognized by the sound that pumps through the speakers and the workout everyone else’s shoes go through when his own music comes on. There is so much great stuff out there but check out the brand new Stress NaNaNah! Remix that just hit his myspace the other day. It’s mad fresh!

Nevermind! I found we the official copy emailed to us courtesy of nice people music. Thanks guys!

Stress – NaNaNah! (Justin Faust Remix)

Nightriders – Take My Hand (Justin Faust Remix)

Something A La Mode – Rondo Parisiano (Justin Faust Remix)

Tiësto [Avicii+T&S]

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

I was never a true Tiësto fan but things are changing pretty quickly. I love this new disco-house remix by Avicii. He is able to limit the rawness Tiësto brings to the table just enough to jar in the vocals perfectly.  It’s a great backdrop or party filler as the synth just fills whatever mood you need it to. Other gems like this are coming around from Tiësto lately. If you haven’t caught some of the more mainstream collaborations with Tegan & Sara than you should. It’s a bit on the pop side but has its catchy moments.

Tiësto – Escape Me (Avicii Remix)

BONUS!

Tiësto feat. Tegan & Sara – Feel It In My Bones

The Funktuary [Hot City Remix]

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Wow!, what a raw dirty bass-line this track has. I can’t help but turn up the subs and pump up this Hot City remix to The Funktuary’s Wip Electric.  Drum n’ bass + dub step garage, and a little classic house has never sounded so good together.  What a flawless mixup! Hot City hail from Great Britain but won’t be contained for long.  This track was debuted on Kiss FM and by Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac. It should catch on real quick, so if you were deep into the late 90s house scene you might just dig this below.

The Funktuary – Wip Electric (Hot City Remix)

BOTTIN [Remixes]

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Bottin comes across as that disco man with an electric jazz flavour. His sound is real effin smooth! Guglielm Bottin is a producer, dj and sound designer based in Venice, Italy. 2009 is looking to be a no easy year as he’s releasing a 14-track album titled Horror Disco (Bear Funk UK) as well as two 12″ singles. Horror Disco is out this month! so keep an ear out and a watchful eye for it’s release here.  Bottin’s sound is real unique. It’s self-described as, “an impredictable journey into space disco, italo rarities, & deep funk. A reckless blend of retro-futuristic sounds and contemporary electronica that always sets the dancefloor on fire.” And well, that just about sums it up.

Space – Carry On, Turn Me On (Bottin Remix)

BONUS!

Bottin – Disco For The Devil (In Flagranti Mix)

Diamond Cut [Remixes]

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Rhythmic synth is what it’s all about in this next gem from Diamond Cut. Their trademark heavy synth-styled sound is present in all of these but it’s the fantastic disco-house rendition of LexiconDon’s Heart Attack that has me craving for more this time around. It hit blogs a few weeks ago so if it looks familiar it probably is. However it’s one of those remixes that just seems to stick around longer than it should.

The others below are a bunch of classics that are too good to pass up on. Diamond Cut are currently one of my favourite unsigned projects.

LexiconDon – Heart Attack (Diamond Cut Remix)

BONUS!

Hail Social – No Paradise (Diamond Cut Rebuff)

Datastrom – All I Ever Needed (Diamond Cut Remix)

Cinnamon Chasers – I Like Watching You (Diamond Cut Remix)
